BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Fans of 'American Idol' are enraged after the judges used a save on two hopefuls only to see them get eliminated in the April 30 episode. Judges spared Lucy Love and Nutsa Buzaladze from the danger zone and put them through to the Top 12, a move that fans fiercely disagreed with. But they were soon sent home in the Sunday episode after receiving the fewest votes from the viewers.

Season 21 of the popular reality competition series 'American Idol' premiered a new episode on Sunday, April 30. It followed the Top 12 contenders as they took part in the competition's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night. The performers put up fantastic performances throughout the evening in order to gain fans' votes and make it to the Top 10. Nutsa and Lucy were eliminated from 'American Idol' after failing to enter the Top 10 on this week's broadcast. These were the two contestants that had been spared by the judges last week in order to make the Top 12.

Lucy and Nutsa sent home a week after getting saved by judges

Lucy chose Lionel Richie's own 'All Night Long' for her Sunday performance. She selected the song to honor the judge who supported her throughout the season. Adam Lambert, the night's mentor, thought Lucy was overthinking everything. He encouraged her to simply smile and enjoy herself. That is exactly what she did for her performance. It's a wonderful song but Lucy went a bit too far with the acrobatics. The judges seemed to enjoy every second of it. Luke Bryan stated, "You showed us so much character in your vocal movements." Lucy was urged by Katy Perry to "trust in your voice." Lionel stated that she made his song her own.

Nutsa felt as though she had something to prove following last week's close call. For Queen's song 'The Show Must Go On', she had the ideal mentor. She didn't change the song, but she did try to accept Adam's advice by singing in "more angelic notes," as he suggested that it may be more intriguing if she chose a different song to tone things down. "You will be Nutsa, forever and always!" said Katy. Luke praised her for her fight and her ability to draw attention to herself. No matter where she ends, Lionel referred to her as "a star."

After more than 22 million votes were cast, the vote was declared officially closed. Unfortunately, in a double elimination, Lucy and Nutsa were both sent home.

'Delusional judges couldn't save you this week'

Fans didn't leave the opportunity to mock the judges as their earlier decision to save Lucy and Nutsa backfired. One wrote on Twitter, "lucy and nutsa going home after we all called them the worst possible save choices last week." Another said, "Notice how judge saves don’t do crap?! Y’all brought Lucy love and Nutsa back for NO REASON we wanted them gone once we meant it!!!!" Calling the earlier save a waste, one wrote, "Delusional judges couldn't save you this week Lucy and Nutsa. What a waste and totally pointless putting them through last week." A fourth person tweeted, "I hope the Judges feel dumb af that both the ppl they saved were eliminated tonight."

Following the decision, the 'American Idol' Instagram account posted photos of Nutsa and Lucy along with a heartfelt message. The caption read, "All the LOVE! It’s a fond farewell to powerhouse vocalists @nutsabuza + @iamlucylove." Commenting on the post, fans wrote, "Not gonna lie it’s pretty embarrassing that the two the judges saved last week are the ones that go home this week. Shows the judges shouldn’t be involved this far into the show." Another added, "This really goes to show the judges saves were not good picks." One further commented, "the two people that were saved last episode are the two people going home this episode… yikes." Finding peace in calling the judges wrong, one fan wrote, "If that doesn’t prove to the judges they were wrong I don’t know what will."

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
