Amber Liu will drop her first collaborative single with GOT7’s Jackson which will release after her first interview with Grammy Museum’s ‘Global Spin Live’

Debuting in the SM Entertainment group f(x) back in 2009, Amber Liu is Jackson Wang’s sunbae (senior) in every possible way. But the friendship that Amber and GOT7’s Chinese member share show that they are on a much more equal footing, their closeness letting them get over strict Asian hierarchies. Ever since GOT7 debuted in 2014, the rapper has made a name for himself and has claimed the title of being a ‘social butterfly’ with friends in almost every K-pop group. Jackson and Amber’s friendship goes way back in time and after chilling together as besties for years, Jackson Wang and Amber Liu are finally releasing a collab single together.

While both Jackson and Amber are parts of currently inactive K-pop groups with GOT7 promising a comeback very soon, both idols have amazing solo careers. Jackson is now managed by his own label and ‘Team Wang’ seems to have nailed getting his soloist act off the ground. Wang's career seems to be taking a turn for the best after he dropped several singles including ‘Leave Me Loving You’, ‘Drive You Home’ as well as his latest album, ‘The Pack’ as part of his Chinese hip-hop collective, Panthepack.

Amber Liu to interview with Grammy Museum

While Jackson is doing quite well in China, Amber has also done well for herself. As of September last year, Amber announced the release of her upcoming EP. ‘Z!’ that will drop on February 25 this year. As part of a pre-release for the mini-album, Amber releases two singles from ‘Z!’ titled, ‘Paradise’ and ‘Bad Decisions’ last year. Amber also made a special cameo in GOT7 members Chinese rapper group, Panthepack's music video for 'Pull Up' in September last year. That cameo seems to have led to the new collab single and Amber has told fans she is now prepping for its release. So get ready for lots of promo content from Amber Liu and "Jackson Wang, from China," as he likes to call himself.

On February 19, when Amber announced her first collab single with Jackson, it made heads turn. She reported that the upcoming single and its music video will be released as part of a live interview at the Grammy Museum. In her tweet, Amber said, “Something new is coming from me GOT7’s Jackson Wang.” She asked fans in LA, California to join her on Wednesday, February 23 for her first interview with Emily Wei for Global Spin Live that airs live with Grammy Museum.

Not only is this the first collaborative single between Jackson and Amber, the song also marks the duo’s first time releasing something at the US Grammys. Talking about Jackson, who is currently in the USA attending the event Amber said, “Jackson won’t be there - but our music video will be.” Fans can book tickets here.
