Pentagon is getting much attention for their latest comeback as they released their 12th mini album ‘In:vite U’ and its lead single ‘Feelin Like’. ‘Feelin Like’ is an electronic dance-pop single with an addictive chorus and an equally fun choreography. And it looks like it has finally caught the general public’s attention as Pentagon is getting the recognition they deserve as they got their first music show win on national TV. ‘In:vite U’ also got them their highest-first week sales with 76.9k copies.

Music shows are an important part of promotions in the K-pop industry as the stages are watched by the general public. It fosters good-natured competitions as points are tallied on the criteria of votes, album sales and more and the recent release with the most points win. With tons of songs being released every week, a win means that the artist stands out and garners new fans who are intrigued. Having debuted in 2016, it took Pentagon more than five years to get a music show win on national TV.

Pentagon wins on ‘Music Bank’

‘In:vite U’ happens to be Pentagon’s best selling album yet. Within 24 hours of its release, the album and the title track ‘Feelin Like’ topped charts like MelOn and Bugs. It also did well internationally as ‘In:vite U’ topped iTunes in 30 countries and was #1 on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart making them the first K-pop group to do so in 2022. While the K-pop group did get their first music show win ever in 2020, it was on SBS MTV’s ‘The Show’ which is a cable show. And it was without Jinho as he was completing his mandatory military service at that time.

Well, Pentagon got their second career win with ‘Feelin Like’ on February 4 on KBS’ ‘Music Bank’. They won against super rookies IVE with 3426 points. Member Shinwon even teared up on stage as he gave a shoutout to their leader Hui. The music program is broadcast in hundred different countries. While other music shows like ‘The Show’ are mainly broadcast on music channels, ‘Music Bank’ airs on the KBS2 channel which belongs to the national public broadcaster KBS.

Hui thanks fans from the military

And while we had Jinho participate in this comeback, it is without leader Hui who is completing his mandatory military service at the moment. However, that did not stop him from joining the celebrations as Hui came online to write a congratulatory post and thank Universe (Pentagon’s fandom) for their support. He wrote, “UNIs.. this..is this real?? I can’t believe itㅠㅠ UNIs you’ve really worked hard. I really love youㅠㅠㅠㅠ I’m proud of you. You’re cool. You guys are the best. Pentagon Since today is a party day Don’t scream but clap at home.”
