K-pop boy group Pentagon has finally made a comeback with eight of the members. Their latest album ‘In:vite U’ was released on January 24. Their 12th mini-album features six tracks, for which the members have contributed to composing and songwriting. Prior to the release, a live media showcase was held. The members performed the title song ‘Feelin Like’ and also held a Q&A. Each member was dressed to the nines in an all-black outfit, featuring embellished accessories. Pentagon took turns in answering questions regarding the album and also told a story behind each track in the album.

When asked what was the main idea behind ‘In:vite U’, the answer came from member Jinho, saying that they wanted to show a new and mature side of their artistry and wanted to meet UNIVERSE (fandom) with love in their hearts. The album is also a peek into a world where the members find a new meaning of love and how it flows between times. Pentagon’s Kino also taught the signature step from the title track ‘Feelin Like’. We then had Wooseok using three words to describe the album’s highlights – ‘Chameleon’, ‘Legend’ and ‘Craftmanship’ detailing the fine-tuned artistry in the album.

As for the music video of ‘Feelin Like’, it is a visual treat through and through. Pentagon’s lead single flows in bass and jazzy beats, casting a hauntingly beautiful charm. The story is inspired by Pygmalion and Galatea, and the modern touch to a legendary and ancient story feels refreshing. The synth beats accentuate the sultriness in the track. The song and the music video together appeal to all five senses.

The second track from Pentagon’s album, ‘One Shot’ is like a dangerous call to battle. The music begins with retro gaming beats and soon progresses to a similar retro tune. The next track of ‘In:vite U’, ‘The Game’, features strains from Western epic opera tracks, and it furthers the use of history and ancient legends as an inspiration for the track. ‘Call My Name’ is a funky R&B track and has a harmony of disco tunes, with spatial arrangements. ‘Sparkling Night’ is the penultimate track from the album and has an atmospheric appeal to it, with the muted echo that reverbs throughout the track adding to the appeal of this track.

The concluding track, ‘Bad’ begins with strains of acoustic Latin guitar strums. This ballad song has the least instrumentals and that is the charming point. The soulful vocals embellish the emotions in this track. Previously, Pentagon had released hit tracks like ‘Shine’, ‘Daisy’, ‘DO or NOT’. The album ‘In:vite U’ marks the group’s comeback with eight members including Jinho after quite a while! The album is available to listen to on all major streaming platforms like Spotify, MelOn, iTunes, and more.
