LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There are a few movies that remain cult classics and 'Mean Girls' is definitely one of them. Released in 2004, the high school movie garnered a huge fan following and still continues to attract new viewers. 'Mean Girls' is based on the book 'Queen Bees and Wannabes' by Rosalind Wisema. The movie is nearing its 20th anniversary. And while the OG film does a brilliant job depicting just how mean girls can get, everything gets better with a song-and-dance. So get ready for the movie musical version of this classic. For 'Mean Girls: The Musical', the original 'Plastics' Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert have all agreed to return. However, the talks have stalled due to Paramount's disrespectful salary offer to the actresses.

'Mean Girls' followed the story of the North Shore High School, where Cady (Lindsay Lohan) joins after years of being homeschooled. Cady finds herself in the middle of the high school's social hierarchy and learns about cliques, bullying and the high school drama among girls that almost destroys the school. There is an online phenomenon called 'Mean Girls Day', which is currently celebrated on October 3, a date reference to a scene from the movie.
