‘Cinema at its finest’: Fans can't keep calm as teen comedy film ‘Mean Girls’ arrives on Netflix

Although it has been about 20 years since the release of ‘Mean Girls’, the film is considered one of the most iconic teen comedy films. The film which made Lindsay Lohan gain global recognition as a talented actor is now available for streaming on Netflix. Her portrayal of Cady Heron received an overwhelming response from the audience and critics alike. She won three Teen Choice Awards along with three MTV Movie & TV awards for her exceptional portrayal in the film.

'Mean Girls' revolves around a group of three mean girls who try changing new student Cady Heron into one of them and somehow succeed. Cady, however, realizes her mistakes and reveals all the mishaps of which she had been a part of. The 2004 film, written by Tina Fey and helmed by Mark Waters, raked in $130 million worldwide. Besides Lohan, the movie also starred Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried and Tina Fey in key roles. Netflix took to Twitter to announce the news. "On Wednesdays, we wear pink. Mean Girls is now on Netflix."

The news of 'Mean Girls' arriving on Netflix has raised curiosity among fans of the teen movie. Many took to Twitter to share their excitement. “Cinema at its finest”, said a fan. “Despite being released more than 18 years ago and being added on Netflix no more than a couple days ago, Mean Girls is already one of the most streamed movies on the platform… this film will forever be iconic”, a fan wrote. “I f**king love this movie!
