Enhypen's Heeseung trolled as 'ugly' amid nose job rumors, but fans say 'he's perfect'

With advanced technology and fewer botched plastic surgery procedures, it has become common for people to get some adjustments done so that they are happy with how they look. However, there is a double standard in K-pop. When idols get plastic surgery before they debut, they are praised for their new modified looks. But when they do it after they are already in the industry, fans and trolls slam them for making changes as they are meant to be perfect as seen in the case of Enhypen’s Heeseung.

It can be seen in the way The Boyz’s Juyeon and aespa’s Karina were not criticized when some fans claimed that they had done plastic surgery before they debuted. However, (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon and Golden Child’s Bomin were slammed after they allegedly made some changes to their face. And the latest idol to be targeted is Enhypen’s Heeseung. On February 18, the K-pop group had a virtual fansign where fans claimed that all of the members were looking a little different.

Heeseung called 'ugly' for looking different

And whether their features were distorted because of the front camera being used for the video call or because they had done plastic surgery, Heeseung was trolled the most. Some Engenes (Enhypen’s fandom) shared screenshots of their fan call with him and pointed out that his nose was looking a bit different. Non-fans and trolls decided to blow it up and started insulting him on Twitter. They made tweets like, “I see totally diff person they took the plastic surgery seriously tf,” “Damn ugly heeseung,” and “Heeseung fans going "hmm 🤔theres sumn off with him today...😕" like they cant see the botched nose job.”

Even some fans made posts like, “Ppl saying heeseung got a nose job and that’s why he looked different in the vc but I hope that’s not the case cause it does not look good@^#8:7.” Another put down the rest of the group claiming they all had done something to their faces, “How dare yall "engenes" call heeseung ugly, all of their faces looked diffrent and yall ony discriminated hee? the audacity.” However, Engenes clapped back, “You all are face shaming heeseung, and if someone tells you you're very ugly and points out your insecurity you'd say that's toxic and immature? if you can't even respect one member then that's also a disrespect to the whole group, grow up engenes.”

'Who are you to judge him'

Another fan said, “Regardless if he did a nose job or not, he’s still the same lee heeseung, enhypens’s ace, the precious heeseung who loves his fans more than himself, the best hyung to enhypen, he’s perfect just the way he is.” One Engene commented, “Shame on those engenes who's disregarding Heeseung's feeling, if ever he did a nose job it's fine as long as it can make him happy. Who are you to judge him? I shouldn't have called you an engene since a true fan will support his idol all the way through.” Another added, “Why does everything seem like a big deal to you??! did you call yourself an engene/aces??! perfect kayo ha? perfect kayo? he's still the handsome heeseung I know . He(eseung) is perfect!”

One angry fan pointed out, “Y'all calling this ugly? You're mad for what? For the way he looks? He looks great though. Y'all care a lot for his looks, but truth to be told, Idols work is to sing and to perform, they're not a freaking models.” Fans also decided to shower Heeseung with love and support as they made posts like, “Let's take a moment to appreciate heeseung's beauty.” Another Engene said, “My bambi looks the cutest today with his cheekies pls i miss him so very much.”
