The Enhypen fandom is going through a very rough phase with fans leading various movements only for them to be sidelined by new comebacks or new achievements from the group. While Engenes (Enhypen fans) want what is best for the group in terms of their success, fans are also pressed about certain issues that arise out of the members not facing repercussions for their actions.

After Heesung's ‘N-word’ fiasco and Jake’s ‘Allah’ necklace controversy, fans really want closure from the artists they love and follow. The closure could be in the form of an apology, this is why one Muslim fan of Enhypen tried to address the issue to Jake himself during a fanmeet. A video of an Engene trying to inform Jake about him wearing a necklace with ‘Allah’ written on it in Arabic is now doing the rounds on stan Twitter. The video shows that just as the fan was educating Jake about why fans are raging about the incident, a Belift Labs (the label that manages Enhypen) staff called “Time’s Up” which meant the fan was stopped mid-conversation as she was finally getting through Jake, asking him to apologize for offending millions of Muslim fans.

Enhypen Jake’s ‘Allah’ necklace scrutinized

Back in July of 2021, Enhypen’s fans called out member Heesung for his use of the racial slur that offended Black Engenes and the issue still has no resolution from Belift Labs as the label seems to have brushed it off the rug. Now, another minority feels attacked due to the ignorance of Enhypen’s staff and stylists and fans are trying to educate the artists involved while Belift staff still won’t let fans have their way with it.

After a viral TikTok from January 31 revealed that one of the necklaces that Jake wore had the Arabic word for ‘Allah’ written on it, Muslim Engenes who felt that their religion was accessorized called out Jake, a Christian, for not protesting about the accessory when he was asked to wear it. Fans also trended the hashtag, ‘Belift Apologize’ on Twitter, calling out stylists of the group for accessorizing the Islamic religion.

Getting no apology or statement for that, one fan tried to educate Jake when they got on a video fanmeet with the member on February 19 and just as the fan was explaining the issue and their concern to the member, they were abruptly interrupted by the Belift Staff. One fan said, “I DO NOT  speak up for every Muslim engene. But what happened today just broke my heart. I really want Jake to apologize and I feel like he wanted to apologize but he couldn't because of all the staff was there and controlling him. he even said that he feel pressured so it just tell us how belift treat their artist and this point I don't want Jake to apologize. Belift should be the one apologizing to us and Jake also.” Another fan said, “Belift stylists made Jake wear a necklace with Allah (الله) written on it for a performance. They did it for the aesthetic, which is very insensitive. Jake has been silenced by the company every time the matter has been brought up. #BELIFT_APOLOGIZE.”

‘He definitely wants to learn’

Fans are now blaming the staff for not letting fans talk to artists about their concerns freely. One fan said, “Poor jake :( the necklace was probably just the stylist’s decision too he probably didn’t know the meaning behind it :((( he definitely wants to learn from the wrong and apologise but be:lift just can’t do better for their only group. Smh.” One fan said, “Jake eyes while reading all the comments on his V live” Another fan said, “HE WANTED TO LISTEN HE WAS WILLING TO BE EDUCATED BUT THAT SH*T A** COMPANY RUINED EVERYTHING, F*CK YOU.” Another fan said, “Seeing jake being uncomfortable during his vlive, staff cutting op off is too much. belift you have one job and one group to protect. drop the apology we all been asking for. let jake speak if he wants to. they don’t deserve this. jake doesn’t deserve this.”

One fan said, “Belift can release merchandise and videos but even a short apology letter he can't do even though he knows there are people he doesn't respect and his artist has been affected.” One fan claimed, “SOME ENGENES are very insensitive. IT IS NOT JAKE'S FAULT! We all know that Jake is a very kind person. Blame the company, not Jake.” One more fan said, “Belift, can't you just let Jake apologize? I feel like he really wanted to, don't get me wrong but i think the staff acted insensitively there. PLEASE PROTECT ENHYPEN AT ALL COST!”

One fan said, “For those fans, please be sensitive enough. Our Jake is willing to listen and to be educated, but their company is stopping him. If you're a true fan, you know how pure Jake is, if he knows about the necklace do you think he will still wear it?” Another fan said, “BELIFT do your part. You don't deserve enhypen as your artist. Our boy is facing a lot of criticism because of your stupid doings, it's not our boy fault. It's your bobong stylist that can't even conduct a research first before making him wear the necklace.”
