An ultimate mind-bending finale is on the way! Ever since 'Devs' premiered, the show has managed to leave us fascinated, spellbound and speechless with its complex storytelling.

It might appear to be scientific from its premise, but there are significant philosophies of human existence at play. The core plot is basically a fight between the theory of determinism and the theory of the multiverse that drives every incident and event of the story.

It is smart, deeply convoluted, dark, and not to mention, deeply speculative. But the story also explores a murder mystery, somewhere in its core. This makes the series all the more complex.

After seven thrilling episodes, 'Devs' is about to draw its conclusions and leave us with an inference of what's what and what's not. So, here’s what we think is in store.

The pre-finale episode showed us how the Devs system's prediction has started to come true. The first instance we see is when Katie and Lyndon meet at the dam and Lyndon tests his belief in the Everett interpretation and ends up killing himself.

The second instance of the program's predictability becomes obvious when Katie gives Forest a minute by minute update of Lily's next steps and how she will soon turn up at the campus.

Earlier, Katie explained to Devs and even directly to Lily how, according to the predictions, Lily will die in the next 48 hours. We do see Lily head to the Devs office, thus hinting at an explosive ending.

The final episode’s synopsis reads: "Lily arrives for her final confrontation with Forest and Katie, hoping to find some closure and resolution."

In the trailer of Episode 8, we see Lily confronting Forest with a gun in her hand. So far, it's proven that Devs' predictive analysis in on point and works! We can't say what the final moments of the series will show but we can definitely say that it might not turn out to be as predictable as it seems.

Forest and Katie might be religious about their beliefs in quantitative analysis and hard data, but we cannot ignore the fact that Katie also told Lily how she will be responsible for altering the laws of the universe.

What does it mean? Does it mean that Devs' prediction will not come true? Or does it mean that Lily will die and that could change the theories about our universe as we know it? Guess, the final chapter will say it all.

As far as the plot is concerned, Lily will probably destroy the Devs machine and being a fictional series, we can definitely expect some dramatic interaction between Forest and Lily.

The series finale will also put an end to the ongoing argument between multiverse and determinism and which holds merit in understanding the universe and our existence. So what do you think would rule at the end, fate or free will?

'Devs' series finale will be available on Hulu (FX on Hulu) on Thursday, April 16.
