Are Courteney and Nick still together? ‘Married at First Sight’ Season 20 delivers a major breakup
‘Married at First Sight’ Season 20 Episode 14 featured an unexpected situation involving Nick and Courteney. With two weeks left for Decision Day, the remaining couples met the experts. During the group session, one of the experts, Paul C. Brunson, asked Courteney whether she and Nick wanted to “end their marriage.” When she said she was unsure, Dr. Liza Paz asked the remaining couples to share their thoughts on the situation. Cameron’s wife, Michelle, reflected on her past. She noted that in the past, she wanted to stay in one particular relationship because she was hopeful. “And I regret being with someone for three years. That was like, a really hard time for me, looking back, cause life is short. Why waste time? Because that opens up opportunity to meet your person,” shared Michelle.
Courteney shared that she felt that she and Nick were missing the spark in their relationship. Nick mentioned that he didn’t feel as if there was a “romantic thing” between the two. Fellow cast member Tori asked them whether it was “fair” to stay until Decision Day. “I don’t know. It’s a lot to think about,” replied Nick. “I need to think about more deeply on ‘What is the value of staying two more weeks?’” However, Dr. Paz told him that he was asking the “wrong question.” She mentioned, “The question really is, ‘Do I see myself able to create space where there is true viability for a marriage?’”
While everyone thought about the experts’ insightful question in silence, Courteney responded, “You know what, there is no reason why I should…we should stay. It’s not…no. Like…no.” Paul asked Nick how he felt, and the former ‘The Circle’ star mentioned he wasn’t sure about their connection and how things would be “long term.” He added, “I genuinely agree like…it’s a…it’s a no. Like, there’s no reason to stay. I don’t think either of us is like, wrong.”
To confirm, the experts asked the two whether they wanted to end their marriage that night. Both Nick and Courteney said they did. Dr. Paz noted that making such a decision required “so much humility” and that the two did it “gracefully.” Soon, the couple said goodbye to their fellow cast members and the experts. Courteney got emotional as she hugged everyone one last time.
