'Anti-Black women': Fans slam 'Perfect Match' as Izzy Fairthorne and Colony Reeves leave the same night
PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA: Netflix's new dating reality series 'Perfect Match' premiered on Valentine’s Day featuring some familiar faces. A tropical mansion serves as the setting for a competition between celebrities from various shows like 'Love is Blind', 'Sexy Beasts', 'Too Hot to Handle', and others in search of love. The drama in the show is scorching hot as each day two new bombshells enter the house and some fan favorites leave the house.
In the latest episodes, we saw Francesca and Dom split up as she left him for Damian. Kariselle sets Dom on a date with 'Selling Tampas' star Colony Reeves. But Colony and Izzy get eliminated as they aren't anybody's perfect match. Fans have slammed the show for this and demanded that the streamer "do better" to represent Black women.

Izzy and Colony were eliminated the same night
In episode 5, host Nick Lachey asked the couples to rate themselves based on compatibility as they had to compete in a challenge that would require "strength and endurance." Joey and Kariselle won the challenge and decided to send Dom and Shayne on dates with Colony and Chloe, respectively. Even though Dom and Colony had a connection, he remained devoted to Georgia and chose her as his match.
This left Colony without a match as others had already paired up by this point. And in a twist of faith, Bartise picked Ines to be his match that night forsaking Izzy. That was so unfair as the previous night Izzy had given up her two choices for Bartise. Izzy and Colony left the mansion with their heads held high the same night. The viewers of the show were very incensed with this turn of events.
Fans demand a 'Black version' of 'Perfect Match'
After Izzy and Colony got eliminated, the fans of the show slammed the show and asked them not to embarrass Black women like this. The fans took to Twitter to express their opinions, as one fan said, "The way the black men s**t on the black women on perfect match is horrible we need an all-black dating show Netflix!" Another one added, "the Perfect match feels very anti-black women lmao f**k this show @netflix do better. make an all-black dating show bc Imm tired of my ppl going out like this!" One more user tweeted, "@Netflix y’all should have an all-black version of this.. cuz it’s like the Black girls Always get the short end of the stick on all your shows. What’s really going on??? #perfectmatchnetflix #PerfectMatch."

Angry fans have also asked for an exclusive dating show meant just for Black people. One fan said, "I’m sorry but@netflix y’all need to create a dating show for black people by black people who only date black people cause the diversity and inclusion are feeling really exclusionary #PerfectMatch #perfectmatchnetflix." Another one said, "Agree. Kinda. They all seem to like Izzy. Honestly why continue to fit into their spaces? Create spaces where black women are celebrated." One more user added, "Yeah they actually did put someone who went straight to her and looked very interested and she sent him home. But in general, I would agree these shows are not set up for black women. The white men usually are not interested nor are the black men."
