HBO Max's next hit revival series 'And Just Like That' has brought back our favorite gal pals from 'Sex and The City': Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblat, except Samantha Jones.

While the audience would expect to see the girls get ready for a lavish adventure, indulge in throwing the big bucks for designer wear and the lot, the new series has started on a rather somber note. Like Carrie (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) says on Episode 2 of 'Just Like That', "This place is about old people and death".

'And Just Like That': Why isn't Kim Cattrall part of 'Sex and The City' revival?

If you've watched any of the 'Sex and the City' movies, you're sure to know about the wonderful, crazy friendship and bond of four women with polar opposite characters; Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblatt. These four best friends taught us what it's like to be fierce yet kind, rich yet humble, and most importantly, the importance of building and maintaining friendships, no matter how ugly things get.

In Episode 2 of the series, a solid 45 minutes focus is on Carrie and her pain of having lost Big to a sudden heart attack. As always, she is never left alone to grieve as her best friends, Charlotte and Miranda, are always there. They take turns to stay with her and also help her plan out the funeral reception. Having said that, Samantha isn't seen since she's away in London but needless to say, she makes her presence felt by sending over a gorgeous vignette of white flowers for Big's casket. Carrie was particular about a strict "No flowers" policy, save for Samantha's.

Here's what fans had to say about Episode 2 of the series. One fan said, "So much to take in, my mind is spinning and my heart is heavy... #AndJustLikeThat", while another shared, "I was ready to sob in a corner with her #AndJustLikeThat".

One fan tweeted, "OMG really girls welcome back but really episode had to hit so hard shocked #AndJustLikeThat", while another said, "After a hour I'm still not over Carrie's reaction to Big's death in the 2nd episode. I mean, I was expecting more drama, more tears, more...more!!! I mean, she cried all her tears when he left her at the altar!!! #AndJustLikeThat".
