'American Rust: Broken Justice' Episode 4: Billy Poe's declining mental state leads to reckless decision

The new season explores the complex web of relationships as Billy tries to hold onto his mental stability following the beating he received in prison

BUELL, PENNSYLVANIA: Based on the book of the same name, the second season of 'American Rust,' titled 'Broken Justice,' is now streaming on Prime Video.

The Showtime series, which debuted on September 12, 2021, was cancelled but was eventually renewed for a second season by Prime Video.

The majority of the first season focused on the investigation of a murder case that was initially thought to have been perpetrated by Billy Poe (Alex Neustaedter).

However, it was later revealed that Isaac English (David Alvarez), Billy Poe's closest confidant, was the true culprit.

So, why Billy chose to safeguard Issac? It was simply because he was in love with Isaac's sister, Lee English (Julia Mayorga).

In the latest season, Lee and Billy are in a relationship as they attempt to move on from the events of the previous season.

However, Billy's one careless move could end their relationship forever.

The story of the murder weapon unfolds in season one in season one, as Isaac carries it with him on his journey throughout the nation before giving it to Billy.

In the third episode, Billy appears in a hysterical state, standing beside Lee's bed holding the bloody wrench.

Lee was trying to wake him up but it was not untill Isaac viciously woke him up.

The following morning, Lee confronts him about the weapon the and tells the boys that they must give it up if they want to find closure.

The trio then discards the murder weapon into the water, marking the beginning of their next adventure. However, things are not always as simple as they appear.

As the evening progressed and the three enjoyed themselves, Lee eventually announced that she must leave for work. She gives Billy a kiss and leaves the club with her brother Isaac.

Later, Billy is depicted dancing the night away and consuming beer, yet his demeanor quickly shifts as he begins to hallucinate his former detainees, who had severely beaten him, suggesting that he is still dealing with the trauma.

Upon regaining his composure, Billy notices a female staring at him amusingly.

Later, when Isaac returns to find Billy, he discovers that Billy is nowhere to be found. However, Isaac soon spots him outside the club, having sex with the same girl.

So now its evident that Isaac will surely become enraged by Billy's behaviour, which will inevitably damage their relationship.

Additionally, Billy's relationship with Lee will also be impacted by his stupid action.
