BUELL, PENNSYLVANIA: The second season of 'American Rust: Broken Justice,' a crime drama series, has finally premiered on Prime Video after initially being canceled.

Created by Dan Futterman, the series is based on Philipp Meyer's book of the same name.

The series' first season debuted on Showtime on September 12, 2021, only to be canceled thereafter. However, the second season has been revived by Amazon Freevee.

The first season of the series followed Chief Del Harris (Jeff Daniels), a jaded and ethically torn lawman who takes control of the investigation into the death of corrupt police officer Pete Novick (Jim True-Frost).

When it becomes clear that the accuser is none other than his on-again-off-again girlfriend Grace Poe's (Maura Tierney) son Billy Poe (Alex Neustaedter), the situation dramatically changes for him.

Following the eventful season one, the most recent season deals with a new conspiracy ahead, with a sophisticated network of lies that reveals the truth.

Furthermore, after being in a coma following a severe attack at the hands of prison inmates, Billy is finally taking the initiative to let bygones be bygones.

The episode begins with Grace, Virgil Poe (Mark Pellegrino), and a recovering Billy sitting across from Sue Herlitz (Emily Davis), the District Attorney for Fayette County.

The tension in the room was palpable, with Grace delivering a passionate statement about Billy's suffering and demanding fair compensation for her son.

Sue offers to cover Billy's medical expenses as well as his rehabilitation for the following six months, offering a total of $28,400 in compensation, which irritates Grace and Virgil.

However, Grace was taken aback when Billy accepted the money, especially considering that he received it immediately.

Grace was again left worried when Billy decided to live with his buddy Isaac English (David Alvarez) instead of her.

Billy moves to Isaac's house, where he discovers that Lee English (Julia Mayorga) has set up his room specifically for his rehabilitation.

However, things were not that pleasant between Lee and Billy, as they both engaged in a very awkward conversation, with Lee appearing apprehensive around him.

Later, Billy meets with Grace and hands over the deed to the property where they used to dwell.

He informs her that he used the settlement money to pay the mortgage on the property and is now ready to move forward, leaving his past behind.

'American Rust: Broken Justice'  is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
