‘American Idol 20’: Who is Tobias? R&B singer teaches at middle school in Virginia
Season 20 of ‘American Idol’ has served a lot of drama to their loyal fans in the last four episodes and it is only going to get bigger with their fifth episode as it is the last one before the Hollywood week kicks off. Judges namely Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan have been extremely picky when it comes to handing over the golden ticket and the newly-introduced platinum ticket.
While the music lovers enjoyed the auditions of Haley Slaton, Douglas Mills Jr., Sam Moss, and Thomas Patrick Moran among a few others in the fourth episode, the fifth one will keep them hooked to the show when a contestant named Tobias will hit the stage. The singer, who goes by the stage name of Prince Tch, enjoys a massive fan following as compared to his counterparts on the show. Morgan Gruber, Jay, Saylor are some of the singers who will be seen in the latest.

Who is Tobias?
Tobias aka Prince Tch is a singer-songwriter who also identifies himself as a dancer and a musician. He is heavily influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight and P.J. Morgan and is known for his &B music, gospel, and smooth jazz. He pursued BFA in music from North Carolina A&T State University and earned his masters in Marketing from Liberty University in 2020. Tobias, who stays very active on social media, enjoys 20K followers on Instagram and currently teaches choir at Southampton Middle School in Virginia. He also plays the keyboard for his church.
Tobias, who will be seen trying his luck for the golden ticket in the fifth episode, had earlier won HBCU GOT TALENT in North Carolina that got his group 3rd Lane to compete for studio time with a record label in Charlotte. The skilled singer grew up in a musical household revealing that it was his parents and grandparents that taught him the basic principles of music. He effortlessly plays piano, drums and guitar. Tobias has been talking about his ‘American Idol’ season 20 auditions on Instagram for the last few weeks and he seems pretty excited about it. Apart from cover songs, Tobias also dropped original music in the form of his EP called ‘Love and Hate’. The 5-song project was released in 2019.
