Fans of ABC's 'American Idol', the wait is over. The biggest reality music competition is just a few hours away from premiering on your TV screens. The show is returning with a fresh batch of talented singers who are all set to show off their singing talent before the judges.

'American Idol' Season 20 will be featuring 100 contestants who go through several rounds of auditions narrowing it down to 50 contestants at first. Every new season introduces extra-ordinary singers who directly get to perform for top producers on the show, and Douglas Mills Jr is one of them this season.  Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie have a difficult road ahead judging by the crop of singers auditioning for the show. Who is Douglas Mills Jr?

Douglas Mills Jr is one of the exceptionally talented singers from Kinder High School for the Performing Arts. 'American Idol' gave Douglas a surprise, as the 18-year-old artist received a silver American Idol ticket that allowed him to audition in front of some top producers of the reality show. However, the standout senior was initially unaware of getting such a huge opportunity. Samica Knight from ABC Season 13 showed up to his class in September and pranked him by asking him to take her on a tour of his educational institution and Mills was speechless when Samica surprised him with a silver ticket.

Because of his dedication, talent, and determination after enduring multiple surgeries throughout high school, the contestant was highly recommended by his music teachers. His mother revealed that the singing star spent 8 precious months of his life in a wheelchair, but never he never gave up on his dreams. However, Douglas isn't very active on his social media handles, but he does have posts of himself singing.



 

'American Idol' Season 20 airs every Sunday on ABC at 8 pm ET.
