'American Idol' fans slam guest mentor Gabby Barrett, say she has 'energy and charisma of a pancake'
After roping in the likes of Bebe Rexha and Jimmie Allen to guest mentor the contestants on 'American Idol' Season 20, fans were a little surprised when they saw country singer Gabby Barrett playing guest mentor to the top 14 performers.
Gabby, who was crowned the second runner-up on 'American Idol' Season 16, seemed like an unusual choice for a guest mentor. When fans watched Gabby in action long the show, they had some strong feelings about it. From getting Noah Thompson and Ava Maybee to change their songs to nudging Christian Guardino and Nicolina Bozzo to hold back from hitting the high notes, the alum's unusual mentoring style didn't sit well with the fans. Several fans took to Twitter to question the showrunners' decision to bring in Gabby as a guest mentor.
