'Shouldnt have done that': 'American Idol' fans slam Marybeth Byrd for her Carrie Underwood cover
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Marybeth Byrd has been on a high since entering the world of 'American Idol', however, her recent performance on the ABC show has earned her harsh criticism. Despite the judges' severe criticisms, she proceeded in the competition, leaving the viewers perplexed.
Since the small-town Arkansas radio DJ dreams of becoming a country superstar, she auditioned for the popular singing competition show. Marybeth works at Mix 106.3 in Joneeboro (KJBX) and promises to stay loyal to her roots, but she thinks her 'Idol' exposure will help her musical career. Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan praised her performance after her excellent audition. However, following her most recent performance on the April 10 episode, the same judges offered little words of appreciation for her.

Marybeth brings back Country Rock from the 80s
Marybeth rose to prominence on 'The Voice' a few seasons back. She is a gifted and diverse singer. She put her own gritty and bluesy spin on 'Flat on the Floor', a Carrie Underwood classic, on the Monday episode of 'American Idol'. Furthermore, she's an assured performer who goes the disrance. During her performance, she didn't hold back.
Luke considered her performance to be 'yelly' and 'screamy'. They saw her as a smooth vocalist. Luke advises her to continually push herself and she comes around the bend, joking with host Ryan Seacrest that she didn't make it. That eventually turns out to be a bluff as she advances to the following round.
'GET BACK to country'

Most viewers were even disappointed with her song choice as one said, "I’m sorry but I don’t like it when someone sings @carrieunderwood on #AmericanIdol I’m sorry she slowed Flat on the Floor way down." Another fan chimed in, "I didn't like it." Mirroring the same emotion, another fan tweeted, "Gosh this is one of my favourite Carrie songs . She shouldnt have done that."
