'American Idol': Saylor wins golden ticket despite choking twice, fans ask how 'she got a YES'
The latest episode of ‘American Idol’ Season 20 wrapped up the auditions with a lot of drama. Social media users, who had tuned into the singing reality show, brutally dragged a contestant named Saylor after she was picked up by the judges for Hollywood despite failing to sing seamlessly. The 18-year-old crooner from Oklahoma performed her rendition of ‘All I Want’ by Kodaline but it seems the Internet was not fine with her winning the golden ticket. The young singer got a bit nervous in front of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie after she shared how her father left her mother and her for another woman.
Saylor, whose full name is Saylor Kambree Woodmansee, dedicated her audition to her father but unfortunately, her voice cracked twice in the middle of her performance. Luke, while speaking to her, said that he really loved the voice and that she was like a butterfly who was waiting to fly out of the cocoon. Katy , on the other hand, said that Saylor did have tremendous vocals adding that her singing feels as if she had a story to tell and that she will survive in that story. The trio unanimously then agreed to give her the coveted golden ticket despite the hiccups. This did not go down well with the social media users as they trolled the judges for poor decision-making. Saylor also got mocked for her huge eyelashes.

The fans of ‘American Idol’ logged into Twitter to slam the trio and Saylor as one of the users stated, “Are they really gonna be like I’m worried about your voice and they let dear Saylor through (I liked her) with all the voice cracking?” Another, on similar lines, asserted, “So they let Saylor go to Hollywood. She’ll get cut there and her heart will be broken. Should have just cut her now.”
One user posted, “I can’t believe Little Miss Eyelashes went through after messing up a bunch of times, but the girl who sang “How Do I Live” BEAUTIFULLY but voice cracked once didn’t go through.”
The next one got shocked and added, “She got a yes? Does it sound different in the room than it does on TV?” Meanwhile, one individual posted, “OMG! Sayor Woodmansee's voice cracked and she hit some bad notes during her performance. The judges were completely sympathetic and sent her to Hollywood. Taniya Boatwright sang her song beautifully, was pitch-perfect, but the judges torpedoed her dream. What was the difference?” And, one concluded, “She’ll get cut after the first round in Hollywood.”
