Season 20 of ‘American Idol’ finally premiered on ABC network on Sunday, February 27 with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan returning to the singing reality show as the judges. Even though Bobby Bones could not make it to this season due to other work commitments, Ryan Seacrest like always took over the hosting responsibilities.

In the very first episode of Season 20 of the reality show, we saw a few charming contestants like Grace Franklin, Maddie Glidewell, and a few others who showed their vocal prowess in front of the trio. Danielle Finn, a 17-year-old Jewish crooner who dubs herself as Modern Orthodox, showed off her skills but it seemed Katy and Luke had differences of opinions as the young singer eyed the golden ticket.

While Katy Perry was impressed with Danielle Finn and was willing to take her forward in the journey, Luke Bryan was a bit hesitant before he took the final call. After a bit of tussle between the two, Danielle Finn finally got the golden ticket as she jumped with excitement. The auditions for the new season were held in Los Angeles, Austin, and Nashville. Online auditions too happened with virtual sessions. While the format of the show will remain the same, a new platinum ticket has been introduced that would allow the holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week.

Social media users quickly took to Twitter as soon as Finn got through the first round as one of the users stated, “Danielle Finn has a very good ear. Smokey tone. See how they took the key up and she was right on it. Nice wailing notes with a lil cry in there. Nice!” Another posted, “.@DanielleFiinn’s voice is unique. & i think that will help her in this competition. the industry is so oversaturated with the same sound. Danielle is bringing a VOICE! @AmericanIdol”  And, the next one added, “Danielle is SO sexy!!! And she's HOLLYWOOD BOUND!!! Congrats, Danielle!!”
