‘American Idol’ Season 20 took off to a great start after contestants like HunterGirl and Taylor Jalen Fagens among a few others raised the bar with their exceptional singing skills. The first episode of ABC network’s reality show was aired on Sunday, February whereas, the second will be broadcasted on March 6. The premiere episode of the show also saw judges getting emotional and holding back their tears as they handed over the coveted golden ticket to the deserving ones.
 
The second episode of ‘American Idol’ Season 20 will bring new contestants that include singers like Kelsie Dolin, Isaiah Jaay, Aaron Westberry, and Christian Guardino among a few others. The show will also see Kenedi Anderson- a singer who is rumored to bag the second platinum ticket of this season, as reported by multiple outlets. However, nothing is confirmed yet. The first one was bagged by HunterGirl in the premiere episode. The new season also got back its favorite judges namely Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.

Who is Kenedi Anderson?

Kenedi Anderson is rumored to floor the judges when she lands on stage on Sunday, March 6. The young crooner hails from Virginia and is known for regularly sharing cover songs on Instagram and TikTok. The singer runs two Instagram accounts where the other one is dedicated entirely to her music and basically consists of reposts from TikTok. Kenedi enjoys a little above 1K followers on the photo-sharing app but has a better reach on TikTok. On the video app, Kenedi entertains more than 12K followers and has close to 250K likes.  
 
Kenedi shot to fame with her rendition of Tori Kelly’s ‘All in My Head’ and a powerful cover of ‘Hopelessly Devoted’. The Instagram bio of the social media butterfly tells us that “music is life” for her. Kenedi reportedly auditioned for the show in Los Angeles. According to her Instagram, she has been recording new music. Kenedi has also covered Rihanna’s songs along with Sam Smith, Etta James, Olivia Rodrigo and others. She had reportedly dropped her first single in December 2020. The skilled crooner had covered ‘Love on the Brain’ with the Lafayette Bayou Boys at a 2019 Mardis Gras event in Washington, D.C.

The 20th season of ‘American Idol’ will air on ABC at 8 pm ET. The show is expected to air 18 episodes and might wrap up in late May. The auditions for the new season were held in Los Angeles, Austin, and Nashville. Online auditions too happened with virtual sessions. While the format of the show will remain the same, a new platinum ticket has been introduced that would allow the holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week.
