'American Idol' Season 20: Here's why Bobby Bones will not return as in-house mentor
All the 'American Idol' fans will be sad to know that the upcoming Season 20 of the 'American Idol' will be without Bobby Bones. On Friday, Bobby Bones confirmed through his Instagram stories that he will be ending his run on the ABC singing competition series after four seasons.
The radio personality and the star alum and winner of 'Dancing With The Stars' Booby Bones, who became a full-time mentor an 'American Idol' during Season 17, revealed in a since-expired post revealed that because of conflict with another show, he won't be able to mark his appearance on the 'American Idol' Season 20. Bobby Bones commented over his absence from the show by saying, " And some of you noticed, I'm not in the 'Idol' promos this season. My contract with my new network won't let me do another show right now." He concluded himself by writing, "Love 'Idol', BTW. It was a great 4 years."

While sharing his Instagram storied, he kept tight-lipped about his upcoming new project and said, "The network hasn't even announced the show yet. So I'm going to chill for a bit. But it's an outstanding show." Bobby Bones has been serving 'American Idol' as a mentor for the past four years, giving contestants fruitful advice as they navigate through their musical journeys. While talking about the show and the crew members Host Ryan Seacrest and Judges like Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry will be seen returning on the show sets for Season 20, which will be airing on ABC on 27 February 2022.
Bobby Bones is also the host of 'Breaking Bobby Bones' on the National Geographic Channel and the recently helmed 'CBS New Years' Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash.' It was also recently revealed that 'American Idol's ' bosses have no plans to replace Bobby. Instead, they will be inviting back some familiar faces from the show to offer their advice to this year's contestants.
