Who is Danielle Finn?

Danielle Finn is a 17-year-old crooner, who will be seen in the latest season of ‘American Idol’ 20. The Jewish singer dubs herself as a Modern Orthodox who attends Shalhevet High School, and is a member of the Choirhawks- an a cappella group. On Instagram, she has a little over 1K followers but on TikTok she managed to pull close to 30K fans and followers after one of her covers on Sam Smith’s ‘Palace’ went viral. The teen singer in an interview with Jewish Telegraphic Agency spoke about making it to the auditions of the reality show saying, “I told all my friends that I was going to go and they were freaking out. My teachers were so excited for me too.”  Her Instagram bio tells us that she is a “LA Baby.”

Speaking of her Jewish observance, she told the publication, “I’m Modern Orthodox. I love my school because it’s a place where you can learn to be your own Jew and person. For example, they let me sing the national anthem at a basketball game.” She continued, “It was definitely a question because there were a lot of other religious schools there that don’t accept it [a woman singing alone in front of men]. But they made an announcement and anyone who wanted to leave the room could” adding, “They said that this was something that we do in our school and we don’t want to hide from that. So they let me sing. I think it’s super fun to be able to do that.” Finn is also a songwriter who will soon drop a new single called ‘Brace Yourself.’
