'American Idol': Who is Cadence Baker? Singer’s grandfather is a Music Hall of Fame inductee
Episode three of ‘American Idol’ Season 20 will see a new set of contestants trying their luck to bag the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood. Luke Taylor, Lady K, Christian Guardino, and Aaron Westberry were some of the singers from the previous episode who exhibited their exceptional singing skills in front of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.
HunterGirl and Kenedi Anderson from episodes one and two respectively bagged the rare platinum ticket introduced to celebrate the 20th season of the singing reality show. In the latest episode, a singer named Cadence Baker will be seen trying to impress the judges with an intention to move to the next round. Sam Finelli, Cadence Baker, Ryleigh Madison, and Mark Osborne are the other contestants who will appear on episode three of ‘American Idol’s latest season.

Who is Cadence Baker?
Cadence Baker is a 19-year-old crooner from Florence, Alabama who completed her schooling from Florence High School. She goes by the stage name of Cadence Nichole and posts regular covers on social media platforms. On Instagram, the stunning beauty enjoys close to 3K followers and her bio tells us that she identifies herself as a singer-songwriter. She reportedly started picking up notes on the piano at the age of four. The talented singer has also released two original singles named ‘PeterPan’ and ‘The Play’.
Cadence Baker’s father, is also a musician and he earlier fronted a Christian rock band called Cadence. He has earlier been a signed artist for other Christian publishing companies in both Nashville and Alabama. Interestingly, Cadence’s grandfather Gary Baker is a co-writer of the hit single ‘I Swear; that was released in 1993. The iconic song went on to sell more than 20 million copies internationally and even bagged the 1995 Grammy for Best Country Song. He owns a recording studio in Florence and was honored with the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2020. While sharing about her ‘American Idol’ season 20 audition, Cadence Baker shared a picture of hers straight from the set and captioned it as, “YOOO i just found out my audition is going to be an early release tomorrow!!! make sure to tune in at 9am EST on instagram, facebook, twitter, youtube,etc. I WILL STILL BE ON SUNDAY’S EPISODE.”
The third episode of ‘American Idol’ season 20 will air on ABC at 8 pm ET. The show is expected to air a total of18 episodes and might wrap up in late May. The auditions for the new season were held in Los Angeles, Austin, and Nashville. Online auditions too happened with virtual sessions. While the format of the show will remain the same, a new platinum ticket has been introduced that would allow the holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week.
