LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It is a new dawn, a new day, although not a new life for us but definitely for George R. R. Martin's new world. 'Game of Thrones' was massive, however, 'House of the Dragon' was no less as the first season of the Milly Alcock and Emma D'Arcy starrer HBO series broke many records. Speaking of 'House of the Dragons,' it looks like 'The Game of Thrones prequel may be about to get a prequel. A recent report suggests perhaps HBO is in active discussions to make another series based on George R.R. Martin’s 'A Song of Ice and Fire' fantasy series, this time set even earlier in the timeline than the current prequel, 'House of the Dragon'. Nevertheless, the 'GoT' universe yet again proved after so many years it still has what it takes to be a great show as the series won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama.

A new Targaryen in the house of HBO

A new report by Variety states that a prequel about Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros is being actively discussed as well as a feature film. The report also reveals that the idea is in the very early stage of development while HBO looks for a writer, as the giant is keen to move forward with development. Furthermore, HBO and Warner Bros. plan to produce a feature film that would then lead into the potential series, though per the report “plans remain in flux” at the moment. Fans of the books are well versed in the story of Aegon the Conqueror and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys. The trio used their army and dragons to conquer six of the seven kingdoms of Westeros except for Dorne. The events took place 300 years prior to the events of the original series, made Aegon I, the first king of Westeros and the founder of the Targaryen Dynasty.

Mapping out George R.R. Martin’s 'Fire & Blood'

The most recent 'Game of Thrones' spin-off is last year’s House of the Dragon. Based on George R.R. Martin’s 'Fire & Blood', the series chronicles the rise and the downfall of the Targaryens - the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria. It takes place 200 years before the events of the award-winning series adaptation of 'Game of Thrones,' which aired its final episode in 2019. According to a recent report, the second and third seasons of 'House of the Dragon' have already been mapped out.
