'90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?' Season 7: Usman and Kim's plan complicates as his mom wishes he marries his cousin

Kim Menzies demands first-wife status, and Usman considers seeing another woman to appease his mother

SOKOTO, NIGERIA: On Sunday's '90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?,' Usman tells Kim, "Basically, she wants you to be second." Fans advise Kim to stop attempting to win Usman's mother's approval when she informs Kim that she has already thought of a young girl to be Usman's first wife.

Kim Menzies is having difficulty dealing with Usman "Sojaboy" Umar's priorities. The pair appeared on Sunday's episode of '90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?' alongside Usman's mother, Fadimatu, and brother Faruq. Throughout the season, Usman has threatened to cancel the trip if Kim misbehaves — and yet, after a near-breakup and a milkshake toss, the couple ultimately sat down with Usman's family to seek their approval. But, given how things have been going in recent episodes, people are questioning Kim's stance.

Kim stated that their previous encounter did not go well. "You didn't see me as a person and I want to make sure that I leave here, and I leave a good impression," she stated, emphasizing that she is not a "replica" of Usman's ex, Lisa Hamme (a.k.a. Baby Girl Lisa). Usman's mother stared at them and replied, "indeed, people are not the same," but she was still hesitant. Kim swiftly stated that she sincerely likes Usman after "getting to know him as a person," and she glanced at Usman as she explained that his bond with his family is similar to hers.

Kim then stood up to show his mother and brother photos of her son Jamal, including a graduation shot and one of them together. She admitted to feeling under pressure to please them, but she hoped they would realize who she truly is after seeing Jamal's photos. "I'm praying that this is going to help me secure that first-wife status," Kim said.

Despite their 18-year age difference, she said she had a lot in common with Usman and that they had the same job in the army. "She told me she was a soldier," Faruq said to Fadimatu. Faruq apologized for their previous meeting and said she would have to prove herself — but he acknowledged Kim was gradually persuading him that she would be a wonderful match for his brother. Faruq went on to say that the first time he saw Kim, he was attempting to protect his brother, but now that he knows she's a soldier, "I feel good."

However, the meeting did not conclude on such a good note. Usman reminded his mother that he and Kim were seeking her approval, only for her to answer that she still didn't approve of their relationship and that she had a girl in the wings who could give her grandkids. Of course, Kim was irritated by this opposition. She was furious when she informed Usman that his mother was testing him, but he said, "That's what she wants," and that he needed to satisfy his mother.

After seeing what unfolded at the meeting, a fan summed it up in a tweet, "Mama Usman doesn’t care how many pictures you show her. The answer is still no." Pointing out how Kim is not seeing the obvious, another fan wrote, "This show is solely for the delusional!!! Kim just said she'd never let a man manipulate her... Baby girl that ship has sailed..." One fan tweeted how Usman's mother is testing Kim with the whole second wife thing, "Usman's mom is testing Kim because she knows deep down she isn't okay with another wife." One '90 Day Fiance' fan also felt bad for Usman's mother, as they write, "Can you imagine how Usman’s mom is probably feeling, having her son embarrass her for the second time & on tv."

Seeing Kim pull out his son's picture, a fan quipped, "Kim showing that she’s already raised a black man, she’s capable of raising another one." Another fan thinks Usman is only with Kim for the green card, "Usman gets triggered when he hears Kim speak like it’ll be over w them and he won’t be getting that green card. THAT’S the trigger, not losing Kim." Reacting to Usman potentially meeting his cousin for marriage proposal, one fan tweeted, "Oh lawdy... they'd rather Usman marry his own cousin than another old white lady? Ain't no way I'd be sharing hubby's yammy with his cousin." Speaking about the showdown, a fan wrote, "Usman and Kim showed up with a plot to manipulate his mom. She showed up with her own plan."
