Will Josh Flagg buy Josh Altman’s $17M listing? ‘MDLLA’ star shows interest in buying Trousdale property amid feud
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Navigating the real estate market, especially in Los Angeles, can be challenging due to fluctuating prices.
In the fifth episode of 'Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles' Season 15, Josh Flagg was looking for a new home after purchasing a $9.2 million property unseen. He found a house he liked, but the price was high and the listing agent was Josh Altman, with whom Flagg had a rocky relationship.
"I was looking at three in the morning, surfing the MLS in bed, stumbled upon it and I was like, 'Hmm, this is really nice.' Then I took a look at the agent and go, 'Hmm, this is not so nice,'" Flagg said during the August 7 episode.
"Before I can commit to selling Bedford, I need to buy a different house. I know it makes no sense whatsoever. It's all mental. But half of the sh-t in my brain makes no sense," he further added.
Flagg visited Altman's listing in Trousdale Estates, which was priced at $16,995,000. Despite being impressed by the 6,200 square foot residence and its high-quality finishes, Flagg was hesitant about the price.
"Is there a huge appeal to a turn-key house that would still look good with some of my classic furniture and pieces of art? Yeah. I could make his work and I could make it really, really beautiful. One caveat: I'm not paying $17 million for it," Flagg shared in a private confessional.
Talking of Altman's $17 million property, Flagg went on to say, "This is not a 17 million dollar house. It has an obstructed view, it's got a small backyard. If you look at the house I sold across the street, that was 1000 square feet bigger [and sold for $15 million]."
'MDLLA' Season 15 star Josh Flagg questions Josh Altman's 'taste level' in real estate
Josh Altman's Chalette listing in Trousdale Estates has been priced at $16,995,000 and includes five bedrooms, a movie theater, and a temperature-controlled wine cellar. Additionally, the house features a Versace table setting valued at approximately $15,000, although Flagg is not a fan of the style.
"A house like Chalette is wasted on Altman. It's just not his taste level. It's far above it," Flagg said.
Flagg discovered another problem with the house. He noted that the extreme quietness could either be enjoyable or maddening, jokingly contemplating the possibility of it driving him crazy as he admired the beautiful view.
Flagg appreciated the high-quality finishes of the house, but he was not particularly impressed with the decor.
"I like the white oak, I like the blonde wood, I like the steel and iron windows and doors, I like that it's bright, I like the floor plan. I don't like the bedspread, I don't like any furniture in that house whatsoever. Contrary to what Altman thinks my taste is," he explained.

In the third episode of 'Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles' Season 15, viewers were given a tour of the stunning $9.2 million house that Josh Flagg had recently bought, believing it to be the perfect embodiment of his dream home.
However, upon entering the house, Flagg was taken aback by the state of disrepair and neglect it was in. The sight that greeted him was far from what he had expected or imagined, leaving him feeling surprised and dismayed.
"Long story short, it was completely gutted. The bottom line is, I want to find something done and turn-key," Flagg told Altman during Episode 6.
Later on, in the episode, Flagg and Tracy Tutor visited Altman's office to submit an offer of $13.3 million.
