While fans were afraid to voice it out for fear of it being manifested, Orbits (Loona’s fandom) felt that Chuu was being mistreated by her label Blockberry Creative, especially when she took them to court in late 2021. After missing Loona’s first offline concert in 3 years due to her health, Chuu will be sitting out of their first world tour as she has been booked for the rest of the year for solo projects. So while it was saddening, fans were not surprised when reports came in that Chuu would be leaving the label.

On June 22, Korean media reported that they had heard from industry officials that Chuu was planning on signing a new contract with BY4M Studios for a new start. The report claimed that the Loona star’s solo endeavours will be managed by the new label. This is followed by Chuu getting the court to suspend her exclusive contract with Blockberry. While the other Loona members do have some solo activities, Chuu was the busiest member as she was booked for almost 15 variety shows in 2021 alone.

Chuu leaves Loona’s label Blockberry

In the injunction that Chuu filed against Blockberry, she got partial victory as the court suspended one clause that would allow her to choose the gigs that she wanted to take up. Fans had also been angry that Blockberry had organized the group’s first world tour knowing that Chuu was booked for the rest of the year and would not be able to attend. The idol’s disappointment yet constant loyalty to the group and fans moved Orbits and have taken to supporting Chuu’s decision. Her first solo single after the decision is the collab ‘Lullaby’ with B.I.

There are several idols who have left their agencies but are still part of their groups like 2PM’s Taecyeon and Chansung, Mamamoo’s Wheein and the VIXX members. But on the other hand, Apink's Naeun could not participate in group activities until she simply ended up leaving the group. Along with the exclusive report by E-Daily which states that Chuu will still be a part of Loona, fansites are claiming that she used to take a taxi on her own for solo schedules carrying her suitcase.

The fansite also shared that Chuu did not have a manager to look after her since May and even during group activities like ‘Weekly Idol’ she was spotted coming alone in a taxi while the rest of Loona were sent together in a van. Fans are furious for Chuu and have taken to Twitter to slam Blockberry. The Loona member also came online on FAB to assure fans as she said, “I’ll do my best for the people I like, I will do my best for the members and Orbit. Don’t worry. I’ll protect everything I want as long as I can.”

Update: Blockberry has since denied all rumors regarding Chuu's departure.

‘They all deserve better’

Fans are afraid that since Loona is in the midst of their comeback, Chuu will further be mistreated by the label or will not be able to participate in group activities since Blockberry might hold a grudge for not being the one to announce Chuu’s departure. The fansite that noticed Chuu traveling alone tweeted, “It's comeback week, but BBC or that [new] agency didn't publish an article. It's just that BBC acted so carelessly and the news got into a reporter's ear who published an article.”

One Orbit hoped, “If anything chuu has make it obvious so much she loves performing, how she really adores and loves the members and even said 2022 will be loona's year ;; just wish there'll be more good things for all of them they all deserve better.” Another prayed, “God if youre real please let chuu keep performing with loona even if shes managed by another company.” Another was shocked, “Chuu, the most busy member of loona, the one with the most schedules, doesn't have a manager nor means of transportation for her gigs?????? WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT IS THIS.”

One wondered if Chuu was missing the world tour due to her leaving the label, “Bbc punishing chuu by not letting her join in the group's world tour because she left the company for a better one due to their mistreatment towards her in the first place I NEED THE CEO TO D!2!3 actually.” One was proud, “Can you even imagine how scary it would be to stand up to a company like bbc who has been abusing you since you were a child ? and risk your entire career to stand up for yourself ? chuu is so f**king brave.”
