Fans compare Loona Chuu and SF9 Rowoon missing group activities: 'They're idols first'

Fans rage at the poor management of the two labels that led to Chuu and Rowoon having to sit out from their tour and comeback respectively

Fans were first over the moon when Loona announced that they would be going on their very first world tour. The news came following the finale of ‘Queendom 2’ where they ranked second. Nothing could dampen their spirits as fans pointed out that had Loona not missed round 1 of the survival show due to getting Covid-19, they would have ended up winning. Unfortunately, hours after the good news, their label, Blockberry announced that Chuu would be sitting out of Loona’s world tour. 

On the other hand, another fandom was similarly upset. Nine-member boy group SF9 who had also competed in the previous edition of the survival show ‘Kingdom’ announced their first comeback without Inseong and leader Youngbin. As the two eldest members, they are currently serving in the military. But what fans did not expect was their label FNC announcing that Rowoon would also be missing the comeback. SF9 will only be coming back with six members.

Rowoon and Chuu excluded from group activities

SF9 is set to make their first comeback in seven months by releasing an album in early July with members Jaeyoon, Dawon, Zuho, Taeyang, Hwiyoung and Chani. Rowoon will be sitting out of the comeback because SF9’s preparations for the new album had overlapped with the filming of his new K-drama. Reports suggest that idol actor Rowoon was busy filming for the K-drama ‘Tomorrow’ which ended only in May. In the meantime, while Chuu will be participating in Loona’s comeback, she will be missing their world tour since the dates are in conflict with her individual schedule which is already filled in advance for the rest of 2022.

While Rowoon is also an actor, he has often done his best to join SF9 from their past world tours to participating in ‘Kingdom’ despite filming for his previous K-drama ‘The King’s Affection’. Fans had hoped that he could have joined SF9 for the upcoming album too. We also have Chuu who was the busiest Loona member in 2021 as she was cast in over 15 shows. She also shared her disappointment as she could not perform in Loona’s first offline concert in over three years. With this being the group’s first-ever world tour after rumors that their label was bankrupt and the group would be disbanding, fans are upset that Chuu will have to sit out.

‘Still trying to process’

Fans of both groups were disappointed as they made tweets like, “Loona concert without chuu...sf9 comeback without rowoon…” Another posted, “No chuu no rowoon.. they're idols first.” One fan commented, “Still trying to process rowoon and chuu being omitted from group activities on the same day, i'm still recovering from yesterday.” Another shared, “Like i get some members have busier solo schedules but concerts/tours are something you have to plan ahead, how are you gonna have them booked and not participate in SUCH A BIG THING FOR THE GROUP?”

An SF9 fan commented, “No i understand that binseong won’t be able to participate in the comeback but rowoon? Y’all can move his schedules for his solo fanmeeting but not for the group comeback???? FNC ROWOON IS A MEMBER OF SF9 BEFORE HE IS AN ACTOR.” A Loona fan similarly said, “Chuu is the 10TH member of LOONA. her main job is being in loona. How are you not gonna let her participate in their first world tour bc of solo scheds? & also does she know abt this? Bc as far as I recall, she said she’ll see wuebit soon from her chicken maru fancall yesterday.”
