Will Chris Bassett return for 'RHOP' Season 9? Bravo star opens up about sudden departure from Season 8
POTOMAC, MARYLAND: Viewers of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' were introduced to Candiace Dillard Bassett's then-fiancé Chris Bassett during Season 3.
Over time, they've seen him become her husband and thrive in his career as a restaurant co-owner, cooking class teacher, and personal chef, among other roles. However, as Andy Cohen pointed out in Part 2 of the 'RHOP' Season 8 Reunion, Chris was not as active in the most recent season of the show.
Andy asked Chris whether his absence from 'RHOP' Season 8 was "by design," and he answered, "Yeah. Yeah, it was ... If I'm not wanted around, I don't need to be around. It's okay."
Chris explained that he was not referring to being "wanted around" by Candiace, who added, "I want him around. But when you have a group of women who do everything in their power to push him out with lies, then why would he be comfortable coming around? [That's] what he's saying."
What happened between Chris Bassett and Robyn Dixon in 'RHOP' Season 8 Reunion?
During the Reunion, Andy asks Chris another question, this time about Robyn Dixon. He goes on to question, "Are you still of the mind that Robyn was in on a plot against you last year and was fake supportive just to cover up her own thing?"
"Honestly, after last year's reunion, I'm tired of talking about it," Chris answers.
"I haven't mentioned it since that reunion — I'm sorry, the three subsequent interviews that aired after the reunion. I haven't talked about it, I haven't tweeted about anything, I just really don't give a f-ck. I'm good. I'm really good," he added.
'RHOP' husband Chris Bassett claims to have not met alleged mistress
Robyn presses Candiace's husband, Chris, with questions about an alleged mistress. Many viewers are upset by this since the mistress idea has been disproved and Robyn doesn't appear to "have that same energy" for her husband.
During Part 2 of the Reunion, one of the "green-eyed bandits" (once again) mentioned suspicions that Candiace's husband Chris had an alleged lover who shared NSFW photographs with a blogger. She eventually admitted to fabricating the entire story, yet Robyn persisted in bringing it up.
The chef was then questioned about the claimed mistress, who made headlines for allegedly having an affair with him and aborting his child. She also provided supposed screenshots of their discussions before withdrawing her claims.
"No, I’ve never met this person," Chris replied when asked if he had ever met the woman in issue. "So the screenshots…" Robyn joined the conversation. "I've never met this person," Chris said as Robyn continued. "So she photoshopped screenshots from your account?"
"I’ll say it to you one more time,” he insisted. “I’ve never met this person." Robyn then pressed the subject as Chris repeated himself.
What is 'RHOP' husband Chris Bassett up to now?
Over the years, we've witnessed Chris's journey as a personal chef, culinary class instructor, and co-owner of restaurants. However, the businessman is currently gearing up for something different.
On the March 3 broadcast of the show, Chris staffed the Clubhouse bar with his wife and 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' guest Cynthia Bailey.
During the After Show, Chris proudly revealed that he has launched his own "spice line" called Bassett's Blends. He also presented host Andy with an array of spices from the new business.
