Whether you like her or not, Cardi B is undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians of the modern era and has given some of the biggest chartbusters in recent years. Apart from music, the rapper has also been seen acting in several projects and was last seen playing the role of Leysa in ‘F9’. Last year, it was announced that the singer-songwriter will be seen in the Paramount movie ‘Assisted Living’.

However, we have some bad news for Cardi B fans. According to a report, it seems the rapper won’t be seen in the upcoming Paramount film and has dropped from the project. ‘Assisted Living’ revolved around a woman named Amber (Cardi B) a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. She gets accused of a crime that she didn’t commit. Now, she has to prove her innocence and has nowhere to go. So, she ends up at her grandmother’s retirement house and starts living there with the help of prosthetics.

Why did Cardi B leave Paramount’s comedy film ‘Assisted Living’?

Deadline reported that Cardi B pulled out from the movie due to her busy schedule and she wasn’t able to commit to the movie’s schedule. The outlet also reported that the production giant has “pulled the plug” on the movie after the rapper’s abrupt exit. The movie was just one week away from starting production and the musician’s decision has caused a lot of confusion in the minds of the makers.

No official confirmation has come from the star herself and when an actor drops out of a movie so late, the production company generally follows the exit with legal action.

The movie was being helmed by Thembi Banks and it was her first feature film as a director. She is known for directing a few episodes of TV shows such as ‘Insecure’ and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’.

She has also written for TV shows such as ‘SMILF’, ‘Home Before Dark’ and ‘Only Murders in the Building’.

‘Assisted Living’ would have been the rapper’s first movie as the leading lady. Before that, she has played supporting roles in movies like ‘Hustlers’ and ‘F9’. She made her acting debut in 2017 with the TV series ‘Being Mary Jane’ and has made appearances on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Rhythm + Flow’ as well.

It will be interesting to see what kind of action Paramount will be taking against the musician.
