This was the 'WAP' hitmaker's first leading role in a feature film and her fans were eagerly waiting for the movie to release. So, why did she leave the movie? Let’s get to know the real reason.
Why did Cardi B leave Paramount’s comedy film ‘Assisted Living’?
Deadline reported that Cardi B pulled out from the movie due to her busy schedule and she wasn’t able to commit to the movie’s schedule. The outlet also reported that the production giant has “pulled the plug” on the movie after the rapper’s abrupt exit. The movie was just one week away from starting production and the musician’s decision has caused a lot of confusion in the minds of the makers.
No official confirmation has come from the star herself and when an actor drops out of a movie so late, the production company generally follows the exit with legal action.
The movie was being helmed by Thembi Banks and it was her first feature film as a director. She is known for directing a few episodes of TV shows such as ‘Insecure’ and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’.
She has also written for TV shows such as ‘SMILF’, ‘Home Before Dark’ and ‘Only Murders in the Building’.
‘Assisted Living’ would have been the rapper’s first movie as the leading lady. Before that, she has played supporting roles in movies like ‘Hustlers’ and ‘F9’. She made her acting debut in 2017 with the TV series ‘Being Mary Jane’ and has made appearances on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Rhythm + Flow’ as well.
It will be interesting to see what kind of action Paramount will be taking against the musician.
