'Nobody Wants This' 3 introduces new characters and things are about to get chaotic for Noah and Joanne
Things are getting a little more chaotic for the main couple in ‘Nobody Wants This’ as the show gears up for its third season. At the heart of it all, Noah and Joanne are still trying to figure out how to make their relationship work without losing themselves in the process. Noah, played by Adam Brody, is a rabbi who takes his faith seriously but doesn’t come across as rigid. Meanwhile, Joanne, brought to life by Kristen Bell, is an outspoken podcaster who has never exactly followed a traditional path. The second season marked a pretty big turning point for the duo as Joanne decided to explore converting to Judaism. However, Noah made it clear that his feelings for her are not tied to whether she goes through with it or not.
Season 3, created by Erin Foster, picks up from there but does not keep things simple. If anything, it throws more personalities into the mix, each bringing their own opinions, baggage, and a little bit of drama. And yes, some of them are bound to stir the pot. One of the most interesting additions is Andrew Rannells, who plays Sebastien. He is not exactly Joanne’s biggest fan; in fact, he’s her rival in the conversion class. Then there is Keyla Monterroso Mejia, who plays Amber. She joins the same class but for very different reasons. Amber is laser-focused on finding a Jewish husband, and she is not shy about it.

Sarah Silverman steps in as Rabbi Eden, the one leading the class. She is described as warm and a bit offbeat. With time, she becomes a source of guidance for both Joanne and Noah. Outside of the classroom, the circle keeps expanding. Avan Jogia plays Travis, a confident guy who seems to enjoy annoying Joanne just for the fun of it. Erin Foster herself makes an appearance as Nicole, a character who is chaotic, single, and not exactly thriving. In a strange way, she mirrors Joanne, but in a version where everything went wrong. Poorna Jagannathan plays Eleanor, who brings a sharp tongue and a strong personality into the mix as Sebastien’s aunt.
Moreover, Stephanie Koenig plays Poppy, who goes on a date with Sasha. The cast also welcomes Steven Weber as Julian, a divorced dad who seems comfortable in his own skin, and Sadie Sandler as Denise, a young psychic who crosses paths with Morgan. Speaking of Morgan, she is Joanne’s sister, played by Justine Lupe. On Noah’s side of the family, things are not calm either. His brother, Sasha, played by Timothy Simons, and sister-in-law Esther, portrayed by Jackie Tohn, remain part of the picture. Production for the new season kicked off in Los Angeles earlier this April, which means things are officially moving forward. The show is expected to return later in 2026 on Netflix, though an exact release date has not been locked in yet.
