Will Roy and Keeley get back together in 'Ted Lasso' Season 4? Juno Temple teases what's ahead
'Ted Lasso' Season 4 is giving fans another reason to wonder about Roy Kent and Keeley Jones. Although their relationship ended before the Season 3 finale, the new season has hinted that their story may not be completely finished. Juno Temple, who plays Keeley, addressed the possibility of her character getting back together with Brett Goldstein's Roy during an interview with ScreenRant. Temple pointed to the chemistry between the characters but stopped short of confirming a reunion.
"I feel like Keeley could probably have chemistry with a teapot," Temple said. She added that Roy has a different effect on Keeley, saying his presence can make her "slightly stop her in her tracks." Temple, however, emphasized the importance of timing, saying she doesn't want Keeley and Roy to make the same mistake again.
Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton, said she simply enjoys seeing Temple and Goldstein share scenes, adding that the two actors were "meant to find each other on camera." The latest season has already given viewers another hint about their relationship. In Episode 2, Ted says Keeley now sees herself and Roy as very good friends. Their interactions still carry some emotional tension, though.
The episode ‘Curiouser and Curiouser!’ pushed that tension further, with Keeley and Roy sharing a nostalgic spark that suggests their romantic history may not be entirely behind them. For now, Roy and Keeley remain the show's biggest ‘will they or won't they’ pairing. Eight episodes remain in the current season, giving the series plenty of time to change its status.
'Ted Lasso' Season 4 has received a strong critical response so far. The season currently has an 89% score based on 78 reviews, while the audience score is 80%. The new episodes have continued the show's focus on personal and social issues. The story has explored challenges faced by women in football through Rebecca, Keeley, and the Lady Greyhounds.
Season 5 has not received an official green light. Jason Sudeikis has said he has a three-season plan for the next phase of the story, but whether the remaining seasons move forward will ultimately be up to Apple TV+. For now, Temple's comments keep the door open for Roy and Keeley. She has not confirmed a reunion, but she clearly sees enough chemistry between them to keep fans guessing.
