Who is Becca Gibb? Gordon Ramsay takes swipe at 'MasterChef: Generations' contestant's dessert
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In Audition 3 of 'MasterChef: Generations,' Gen Z contestants showcased their culinary prowess, with Becca Gibb stepping up as the first contestant to impress the judges.
Becca Gibb, hailing from Provo, Utah, currently serves as a Manager of Customer Experience. She grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado playing piano, skiing, participating in cross-country and track events, and exploring the outdoors.
Becca studied Design and Management at Brigham Young University. She is known as an action-oriented producer and a self-motivated pathfinder. In addition, the Fox show contestant also has experience as a design manager, client success manager, and technology project specialist. She also has a passion for cooking and wants to pursue her culinary dreams. She learned cooking primarily by watching YouTube videos.
She showcased her culinary skills by preparing a Chocolate 'Turtle' Lava Cake with Caramel & Pecan Drizzle, Candied Pecans, and Vanilla Whipped Cream. This dish was inspired by a recipe passed down from her grandmother. However, Gordon Ramsay was doubtful of Becca's dish. Gordon criticized the chocolate and noted that "this thing need to be liquid in the centre."
During the presentation of her dessert, Becca assured Gordon that there would indeed be liquid chocolate inside. However, Gordon was not convinced and said, "You see, as an old fart, I'd do it differently." When Becca presented the lava cake, Gordon reflected on his doubts that the "dessert is packed with jeopardy."
Becca Gibb wants to 'prove' herself with 'difficult dish'
Becca Gibb aimed to prove herself as a representative of Gen Z, asserting that this drove her to create such a 'difficult dish' She took the risk and noted, "I may be a part of the youngest generation but that doesn't mean that I should be underestimated."
'MasterChef: Generations' contestant also claimed that she has been underestimated her entire life but it only drove her to "fight harder, to be stronger, to be more determined than ever."

'MasterChef: Generations' Season 14 contestant Becca Gibb notably received 4 yes votes and was awarded a white apron. The judges were particularly impressed with Becca's dessert, with Nick describing it as beautiful and expressing his affinity for lava cake, naming it his favorite dessert. Nick thought that Becca should have chopped the nuts a bit smaller, but he praised the lava in the cake as being perfectly executed.
Meanwhile, Aarón called it "flawless," while Joe was impressed by her bold approach and awarded her a third yes. Becca was ecstatic to pursue her passion further. Her cooking style, rooted in comfort food, is heavily inspired by her mother.
