NBC's 'The Voice' Season 31 reveals new coach amid major panel shake-up
NBC has officially announced the coach lineup for ‘The Voice’ Season 31. Queen Latifah and Riley Green will return as coaches after Season 30 and will be joined by a new judge, Joe Jonas. As for the host, Carson Daly exited the show after Season 30, and Keke Palmer will take the reins in the next installment. Each coach will bring their years of experience and unique perspectives to the show. Before joining ‘The Voice’ Season 31 as a coach, Joe was part of the US and Australian versions of the reality show. His background in pop and dance-pop will make his addition to the show an exciting update for viewers and contestants.
Previously, Joe Jonas’ younger brother, Nick Jonas, served as a full-time coach during Seasons 18 and 20. Following him, Joe will debut on the show as one of the judges. Notably, he also served as a mentor for Team Adam during the show’s Season 13. At the time, Adam Levine spoke to Entertainment Tonight about working with Joe, and said, “He (Joe Jonas) offers good advice and very sound advice and I trust his opinion because I'm a fan of his.” Later, Joe and his older brother Kevin Jonas served as battle advisors for Team Nick in Season 18. The Season 27 finale also featured Joe performing 'Heart by Heart' and wowing audiences.
Along with Joe, viewers will also witness another new addition to the show, Keke Palmer. She will replace long-time host Carson Daly and is excited about her new role. She is known for hosting NBC's 'Password,' and the network said in a statement, "Palmer's creative range, bold authenticity, humor and heart epitomize the one-of-a-kind season. She expertly guides the competition and connects viewers at home to the excitement unfolding on The Voice stage in a style uniquely her own."
The upcoming iteration, titled 'The Voice: Celebrity', will witness several celebrities competing against each other. This includes actors, athletes, comedians, influencers, musicians, and reality TV stars, who will take the stage to showcase their singing skills. Daly, who serves as a producer, teased via Instagram, "“Celeb Voice” is a fun, NEW IDEA that features some big differences like… FAMOUS PEOPLE singing for 3 coaches to see if they have what it takes. There’s lots of new twists & turns."
