When will Oscars 2022 be held? Glenn Weiss returns to helm event for 7th straight year
In 2021, there was a different feel to the Oscars. It was socially distanced three hours of a ceremony that saw emotions run high. Chloé Zhao made headlines as the first woman of color walking away with the 'Best Director' and the late Chadwick Boseman was looked over for Anthony Hopkins as Best Actor. Couple this with some drama that unfurled, it was a helluva night to remember. 2022, however, has a semblance of normalcy to it. For starters, The Oscars will return to the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center — the OG home.
The last edition was held at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. The nominations were announced on February 8 Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross. Per Vogue, the exact format of the 2022 Oscars is not yet clear although it was announced that Emmy winner Glenn Weiss will direct the show for a seventh straight year. Will Packer serves as the producer. This year will also mark the return of the host who was a notable absentee for three years. Variety earlier reported that the upcoming edition is set to have multiple hosts. The publication added that Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph are being considered, as are Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.
