'Black Panther' actor Chadwick Boseman dead at 43: Devastated Internet asks '2020 can you please stop?'

Actor Chadwick Boseman, better known for playing Black Panther died on August 28. The 43-year-old actor died of cancer, according to his representative said, as stated in Seattle Times. He was at his Los Angeles home when he died, with his wife and family by his side, his publicist Nicki Fioravante told The Associated Press.

The actor's loved ones from his official Instagram page wrote: "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.⁣ Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. ⁣ A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. ⁣

It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. ⁣He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. ⁣The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."

The actor was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement. Though he had never spoken about it publicly. A statement from his family, as quoted by Seattle Times read: “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and several more – all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

Fans were extremely shocked and expressed it on Twitter. Actor Caillou Pettis wrote: "I have no words right now. RIP Chadwick Boseman. Your iconic role as Black Panther and your incredible acting will always be remembered. Much love to his family"



 

A fan wrote: "He hid the fact that he was sick for four years, I can’t even imagine what was going on through his head this entire time. This is so devastating. RIP Chadwick Boseman."
