Aldis Hodge drops a cryptic message before 'Cross' Season 2 Episode 4 and it looks like pure chaos
The crime thriller series 'Cross' premiered its Season 2, comprising eight episodes, on Amazon Prime Video on February 11. The first three episodes aired simultaneously, and the remaining five will drop weekly until the March 18 season finale. The show's next installment, Episode 4, is written by Sonja Perryman and will air on February 18. Set in Washington, D.C., the series stars Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross, a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist, and his partner, Detective John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), as they pursue the most notorious killers.
While attending the 17th Annual AAFCA Awards on February 8, Hodge shared what advice he would give his character after the events of Season 1. “I would warn him about exactly what Samson tried to warn him about. That’s all I’m going to say,” he hinted. The cryptic answer ensures the latest season will continue the dark, gritty tone set by the first season. After resolving his wife Maria's murder case and finding her true killer in the finale, Cross will focus on the rampant killings of the country's corrupt billionaires at the hands of a ruthless vigilante in Season 2.
In 'Cross' Season 2, Hodge and Mustafa are joined by Juanita Jennings as Alex's grandmother, Regina 'Nana Mama' Cross, Caleb Elijah as his son Damon, and Melody Hurd as his daughter Jannie. Furthermore, Alona Tal appears as FBI agent Kayla Craig, Samantha Walkes as Alex's love interest, Elle Monteiro, and Jennifer Wigmore as the Chief of Police, April Anderson. Ryan Eggold and Eloise Mumford round out the show's main cast. Furthermore, Matthew Lillard joins the new season as the billionaire Lance Durand, along with Wes Chatham and Jeanine Mason as the antagonists, Donnie and Luz, respectively.
'Cross' is created by Ben Watkins and adapted from James Patterson's 'Alex Cross' series of novels, which began in 1993. The series debuted its first season on November 14, 2024, and was renewed for a second season on April 30, 2024, as per Variety. Watkins shared his excitement on Instagram by writing, "I am thrilled to be embarking on another chapter of ‘Cross.’ Moments like this don’t happen by accident. Getting a Season 2 pick-up before our first season even drops is a huge testament and vote of confidence in the amazing work that our crew, cast, directors, writers and production team have delivered thus far. It’s also a direct result of the unwavering support bestowed upon us by Prime Video and our producing partners at Paramount TV Studios, Skydance, and James Patterson Entertainment. I am grateful for all of the above and can’t wait to run it back even bigger and better."
Watkins also serves as the show's writer, executive producer, and showrunner. 'Cross' is executive produced by Watkins, Hodge, Aiyana White, Sam Ernst, J. David Shanks, Patrick Santa, Bill Robinson, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, Jim Dunn, and Patterson.
