PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Season 19 of 'America's Got Talent' will take a temporary sabbatical to coincide with the 2024 Olympics. The sports event will break the show's customary showing schedule for the next three weeks, leaving viewers wondering when 'AGT' will return.

Season 19 of NBC has already been teased to return on Tuesday, August 13, when the live shows go off at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Additionally, this will signal the beginning of 'AGT's consecutive broadcast schedule, with the results episodes scheduled to premiere on Wednesday evenings starting on August 14.

'AGT' Season 19 Live Shows to kick-off with new twist

'AGT' is taking a few weeks off as NBC and Peacock shift to round-the-clock coverage of the Paris Olympics — and the July 23 show provided much to ponder about during the absence. At the close of the two-hour episode, which also marked the end of Season 19 auditions, host, Terry Crews made a stunning statement that will affect how this year's live shows play out.

"For the first time ever in America’s Got Talent history, the Golden Buzzer is about to go live," Terry revealed.

"One more from each judge will send acts straight to the finals. This summer, anything can happen."

In other words, when 'AGT' returns on August 13, each of the four judges will have another Golden Buzzer at their disposal, allowing them to send an act directly to the finals regardless of how fans vote.

'AGT' Season 19 debuted double Golden Buzzers

Of course, this is not the only Golden Buzzer surprise in Season 19. This time around, the judges were each handed two buzzers during auditions — even though Terry still only had one — which allowed them to send nine artists straight to the live performances.

Simon Cowell gave his to singer Liv Warfield and drone group Sky Elements, Heidi Klum to singers Richard Goodall and Pranysqa Mishra, Howie Mandel to dance group Brent Street and young singer Reid Wilson, Sofía Vergara to Legión and comedy duo Schumacher, and Terry to comedian Learnmore Jonasi.
