Who is the founder of Brent Street?

Lucas Newland is the owner, managing director, and creative director of Brent Street. He is known for his innovative work in performing arts and creative projects, with a reputation for being versatile and fearless in his approach.

Throughout his successful career in live theater, film, television, and corporate events, he has consistently pushed boundaries and driven innovation.

Lucas's notable choreographic works include productions such as 'American Idiot' in Australia, 'L'Hotel' at the Sydney Opera House, and 'Velvet' featuring Marcia Hines. He has also choreographed for various television shows and campaigns, including 'Masterchef' and 'Australia's Got Talent'.

He started with Brent Street as a teenager in the children's talent agency and has a strong personal connection to the brand, which has motivated him to continue its success.

As the owner and managing and Creative Director since 2015, he is focused on educating and training future stars in the Australian Performing Arts industry. His extensive global experience and industry connections set Brent Street apart from other institutions in the country.

Lucas has recently started investing in theatrical productions to create opportunities for the next generation. He has new works opening on Broadway and the West End soon. He has also established the Brent Street Artist Fund, offering grants to Australian performing artists, and provides scholarships and bursaries to Brent Street students annually.

Brent Street member Max Ostler previously auditioned for ‘AGT’ Season 17

Max Ostler, a member of Brent Street, had auditioned for Season 17 of 'AGT' in the past. Familiar with reality TV shows, he made it to the semi-finals but did not advance further. Despite this, the experience sparked his interest in the vibrant art community in Los Angeles.

The Lebanese all-female alternative precision dance group, Mayyas, took home the title in that season of 'AGT'. Soon after, Max, who is associated with Focus Talent Management, had the chance to showcase his dancing skills at the prestigious Sydney Opera House with Opera Australia.
