This story contains spoilers.
Season 14 of 'The Masked Singer' has arguably brought together an immensely talented batch of contestants, most of whom have proved their mettle as singers. The FOX musical mystery show is now rapidly heading towards its semi-final episode, which is supposed to drop on Wednesday. The final five remaining contestants are poised to take the fight to the next level. At the end of the upcoming semi-final episode, one contestant will be unmasked and eliminated, thus enabling the final four to advance to the finale. 'The Masked Singer' is hosted by Nick Cannon with Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Rita Ora in the judges' panel.
The list of semi-finalists for the ongoing season includes Crane, Galaxy Girl, Pangolin, Pugcasso, and Cat Witch. The previously aired Care Bears Night saw Pugcasso, Crane, and Pangolin advancing up to the semifinals. On the other hand, Cat Witch and Galaxy Girl got their tickets to the semifinals during the 'Star Trek' Night. As of this writing, the upcoming semi-final episode hasn't settled on an official theme.
The show recently dropped an exclusive preview on its Instagram page, revealing that Galaxy Girl will be singing Paramore's 'Misery Business' in the semifinals, as seen rocking out to the song on stage. The track aligns with Galaxy Girl's previous performances, which were mostly energetic ballads, including 'Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl' by Chapelle Roan and 'Just A Girl' by No Doubt. Once the semi-final is done and dusted, the final batch of four contestants will face off on the April 1 finale, which will last for two hours and end with the winner being awarded the coveted Golden Mask Trophy.
The current season kicked off with 18 contestants, 13 of whom have been unmasked so far. The list of the unmasked contestants includes Todd and Julie Chrisley (Croissants), Tiffany Haddish (Le Who Who), Tone Lōc (Handyman), David Ortiz (Googly Eyes), Taraji P. Henson (Scarab), Claudia Oshry (Queen Corgi), Teddi Mellencamp (Calla Lily), Jack Wagner (Eggplant), Alexi Lalas (High Voltage), Judge Greg Mathis (14 Karat Carrot), Evan Ross (Stingray), Billy Ray Cyrus (Owl) and Heidi Montag (Snow Cone). Apart from this, the show had previously revealed Cat Witch's true identity as Kylie Cantrell. This unprecedented move is due to the show's newly introduced concept: America's Insider, a contestant who will share exclusive behind-the-scenes content with the audience. Another important highlight of the ongoing season has been the meticulously curated collection of special nights, including the Fear Night, 'Clueless' Night, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night, 'Twilight' Night, Ozzfest, and so on.
