'Off Campus' Season 2 finds its Summer Di Laurentis in 'Lethal Weapon' actress
'Off Campus' Season 2 has found the actress who will play Summer Di Laurentis. Shay Rudolph is joining Amazon Prime Video's college drama in a guest role, adding a new face to the story surrounding one of the show's central relationships. Season 2 will focus on the relationship between Allie Hayes, played by Mika Abdalla, and Summer's brother, Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn. Rudolph's casting brings another member of Dean's family into the series.
Rudolph and Kalyn wore matching outfits while taking part in an internet trend. According to Variety, 'Off Campus' is based on Elle Kennedy's bestselling book series. The show follows an elite college hockey team and the women in their lives as they deal with relationships, heartbreak, and growing into adulthood.
The series has become a major hit for Prime Video, with Season 1 recording the third-most-viewed debut season in Prime Video history, behind 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' and 'Fallout.' It reached 36 million viewers during its first 12 days. Rudolph brings several familiar credits to the role. She began her career in musical theater in San Diego before landing a recurring guest role on Fox's 'Lethal Weapon.' She later played Stacey McGill in Netflix's 'The Baby-Sitters Club'.
Rudolph was then set to lead Disney+'s planned 'Holes' reboot, but the project did not move forward. Her other credits include 'The Present,' 'She Keeps Me Young,' and the upcoming 'Hot Year.' Rudolph joins a Season 2 cast that includes Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks, India Fowler, and Phillipa Soo. Abdalla and Kalyn remain at the center of the new season as Allie and Dean.
Louisa Levy serves as creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer alongside Gina Fattore. Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and James Seidman executive produce for Temple Hill. Leanna Billings of Billings Productions and Neal Flaherty are also executive producers. The new season will expand the world of 'Off Campus' through Dean's family and the relationship at its center. Rudolph's casting gives fans their first look at Summer's role in the next chapter.
