The competitive reality series 'Survivor' will kick off its latest season with a three-hour premiere episode on February 25 on CBS. Filmed in Fiji's Mamanuca Islands, 'Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans' will see Jeff Probst return as host. However, to get viewers into the competitive spirit for the landmark season, the showrunners have planned an exciting treasure hunt for the show's dedicated fans at home. As part of the national scavenger hunt, which began on January 30, 50 immunity idols have been hidden in each of the 50 states across the country. The 50 lucky people who find the idols will be entered into a grand prize sweepstakes, with the prize being the chance to attend the show's live finale in Los Angeles.

How to join 'Survivor 50' idol hunt?

Montana's local news outlet, KPAX, announced that the fan challenge will start in 'The Treasure State' on Tuesday, February 10, at 1 pm. A clue about the hidden immunity idol will be shared online, and the hunt will officially take off on Thursday, February 12. To participate in the challenge, fans must register online, after which they will receive clues about the idol's location via email. Next, they must head to the destination at the given date and time and follow the next set of clues to hopefully locate the hidden treasure. Once the idol is found, the winner will have to scan the QR code and take their picture holding the idol to enter the chance to win. So far, more than 22 idols have already been claimed. Wisconsin's clue will drop on February 18 and New York, the final state, will drop its clue on February 22.

Season 50 of the award-winning series boasts the largest cast in the show's history, with 24 contestants from past seasons (including several winners) vying for another chance to take home the $1 million prize. The 24 castaways include Angelina Keeley (from season 37), Aubry Bracco (from seasons 32, 34, 38), Benjamin 'Coach' Wade (from seasons 18, 20, 23), Charlie Davis (from season 46), Chrissy Hofbeck (from season 35), Christian Hubicki (from season 37), Cirie Fields (from seasons 4, 12, 16, 34), Colby Donaldson (from seasons 2, 8, and 20), Dee Valladares (from season 45), Emily Flippen (from season 45), Genevieve Mushaluk (from season 47), Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (from seasons 1, 8).
