Probst confirmed during a Golden Globes commercial break on Sunday, January 11, that the post-finale live reunion show will return for 'Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,' with the event set to take place in Los Angeles, as per Parade. Notably, the live reunion was a key part of 'Survivor' for its first 20 seasons, with the winner revealed months later on a studio stage rather than on the island. After the vote reveal, Probst would host a reunion where cast members discussed major moments and life after the show, creating many memorable and dramatic moments over the years.

After Covid-19 pandemic forced production changes, 'Survivor' returned with strict restrictions, making a live US reunion unsafe. As a result, the show revealed the winner on the island and replaced the traditional reunion with an on-island 'after show' featuring Probst, the finalists, and the jury. Probst also revealed that the live reunion is tied to the new 'Survivor' 50 Challenge, a nationwide scavenger hunt launching Friday, January 30 with 50 hidden idols across all 50 states.

Fans who find an idol and submit proof will be entered into a draw for the grand prize, which is a trip to the live reunion, making the search especially worthwhile. Talking about the cast of Season 5, as per reports, twenty-four 'Survivor' all-stars will return for the landmark 50th season, with fans getting their first look during the Season 49 finale trailer.

As Probst explained during a Wednesday, 28 appearance on CBS Mornings, "Casting Survivor 50 was kind of like casting the ultimate all-time movie… there are only so many roles, and we wanted 50 to be a little taste of everything," as per People. It is to be noted, 'Survivor' is celebrating its milestone 50th season with its biggest and most ambitious cast ever, bringing back 24 fan-favorite all-stars from across the show's entire history.

Officially announced by Probst on CBS Mornings, the 'Survivor' Season 50 will feature a star-studded all-star cast, bringing back fan favorites from across the show's history. Returning legends include Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (Season 1), Colby Donaldson (Seasons 2, 8, 20), Cirie Fields (Seasons 12, 16, 20, 34), Ozzy Lusth (Seasons 13, 16, 23, 34), Benjamin 'Coach' Wade (Seasons 18, 20, 23), Aubry Bracco (Seasons 32, 34, 38), and more recent standouts like Mike White (Season 37), Dee Valladares (Season 45), and Kyle Fraser (Season 48), among others.
