LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix is bringing yet another highly anticipated Spanish crime thriller to its catalog. Set in Madrid, ‘Sky High: The Series’ ('Hasta el cielo: La serie') is the story of a young widow who joins the smash-and-grab thieves' gang of her late husband.

Daniel Calparsoro, who directed the 'Sky High' prequel film in 2020, will direct 'Sky High: The Series', from a screenplay by the original writer Jorge Guerricaechevarria. What is the plot of ‘Sky High: The Series’?

'Sky High: The Series' is a story about how a young woman, Sole, shifts her life after receiving a phone call during the night about the death of her gang-leader husband. Sole is tangled up in the middle of everything, which includes being a mother to her son and running troubled businesses.

The young widow must decide whether to return to her father Rogelio, known as Madrid's foremost dealer of stolen goods, or to care for both herself and her son by herself. She opts for the latter and meets new allies along the way. She approaches the gang of thieves and gains their confidence to carry out heists, but Sole recognizes that not every aspect of life is going to be easy for her.

Asia Ortega, who played the same role in 2020's 'Sky High', plays the protagonist Sole. Luis Tosar will play Sole's husband Ángel, and other actors reprising their roles from 'Sky High' for 'Sky High: The Series' include Richard Holmes, Fernando Cayo, Patricia Vico, Ayax Pedrosa, and Dollar Selmouni. The cast will also include Alvaro Rico, Jarfaiter, Alana Jeque, Alejandro Marzal, and Carmen Sanchez.
