Was Yerin Ha's Sophie Baek pregnant in 'Bridgerton' Season 4? Here's what we know
Contrary to popular belief, Yerin Ha's Sophie Baek is not pregnant in 'Bridgerton' Season 4 Part 2. That, though, didn't stop Netflix from teasing fans with the possibility that Baek could be with a child. After an intimate moment between Baek and Benedict, she begins tracking her menstrual cycle with the worry that she could be carrying his baby.
Things get tense between the two when she misses her expected date. This is followed by her nausea episode when she smells pigeon stew — signs that had fans believing that Sophie might be pregnant. The series appears to have made intentional attempts to keep the suspense throughout Episode 6. Later on, she confirms that "her courses" had returned, quashing all notions of pregnancy. "I am not with child. I was never apparently, my courses returned last night," she tells.
In related news, Ha spoke to Variety about a 'what if' scenario in which Sophie would get pregnant with Benedict's child. "I think Benophie babies would be wonderful, especially because Sophie probably didn’t think that was going to be possible for her. She’s probably set on the idea that she can’t have one, but they’re now able to have a happy ending."
'Bridgerton' Season 4 ended with Benedict and Sophie tying the knot at the couple’s My Cottage estate. Jonathan Bailey's Anthony Bridgerton serves as his best man, while Alfie (David Moorst) walks Sophie down the aisle. The series concludes with the question of who is the next sibling to get married, and both Eloise and Francesca smile, saying they are not ready yet. The latter is still seen in mourning blacks following the death of her husband, John (Victor Alli), who tragically died in Episode 6.
There is every possibility that the streamer could adapt from the books and focus on their children next season. With Seasons 5 and 6 confirmed, there is a strong chance that 'Bridgerton ' might move forward in time and show Benophie as a family.
Previously, showrunner Jess Brownell told Deadline that Eloise and Francesca will be the main characters in the next season. "Both characters with the initials on my pocket square will get seasons in 5 and 6,” Brownell said, wearing a pocket square with the initials E and F. "In what order? I can’t say." While the focus might be on different characters, the show will certainly throw light on the main cast. This would mean more of Benedict and Sophie, much to fans' delight.
'Bridgerton' Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix.
