When does 'Bridgerton' 4 finale release? Air time revealed as Benedict and Sophie's story takes a turn
'Bridgerton' Season 4 Part 2 returns with another set of episodes as the eponymous family continues to search for happiness, love, and adventure in Regency-era London. The show's latest installment centers on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict (Luke Thompson), who was dubbed as 'unlikely to take a bride' in past iterations of the series. He is forced to grapple with his undeniable attraction to the maid, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), as the strict class division dictates both their lives. Just like Season 3, the fourth season is also split into two parts, each consisting of four episodes.
What happened in ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Part 1?
Part 1 included Episodes 1-4, and aired on Netflix on January 29. Part 2, spanning episodes 5-8, is set to release on February 26 at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT. All four episodes will release together, giving fans the chance to binge-watch the conclusion of Benedict and Sophie's love story. At the end of Part 1, Benedict and Sophie shared a passionate kiss in the servant quarters of Bridgerton House. Benedict, however, is aware of their different social standing but is unable to deny his growing feelings for her. So, he makes an ungentlemanly proposal and asks Sophie to be his mistress, rather than his wife. Stunned, Sophie walks away disappointed, leaving Benedict to question his decision.
Netflix recently released a glimpse of the upcoming episodes, in which Benedict is seen telling Sophie she did not answer his letter, after which, she blurts out, "because I do not wish to see you." She then goes on to say, "Being a mistress is the last thing I would ever want." Elsewhere, Benedict is seen feeling distraught and conflicted about being with a woman society will not accept as his partner. He is then advised to be brave, and in a scene that is sure to leave fans smiling, he confesses to Sophie that he thinks about her "every moment of every day." After their interactions at 'My Cottage' in the previous set of episodes, fans are eager to see what fate has in store for the duo.
On January 30, Thompson reflected on his character's plight going into Part 2 in an interview with USA Today. "You've got this awful knot now that they've tied themselves in where you're like, 'How the hell are they going to find themselves back together?' They've completely misunderstood each other. But I think that's a big break as well. Maybe Benedict hasn't entertained the idea of losing Sophie, and so suddenly," he said. His co-star, Ha, chimed in by saying that all her character wants is "equality," referencing Benedict's offer to become his mistress.
