VIXX Ravi's ‘ANI’: December single release comes only 6 months after 'Roses' album
Ravi of VIXX is one of the rare K-pop idols who has navigated the fine balance between solo and group projects, while also being a successful businessman. While being an active member of the K-pop group VIXX, the idol made his solo debut back in 2017 with his mini-album, ‘R.EAL1ZE’. With the success of his solo music career, the talented singer and producer became the CEO of not only 1 but two record labels called, Groovl1n and The L1VE.
With these labels, he has roped in singer Ailee and Mamamoo’s Wheein and is managing the two idol’s solo careers. Ailee, whose birth name is Amy Lee, last released her third full-length eponymous album, ‘Amy’ on October 27, with the lead single, ‘Don't Teach Me.’ It was her first comeback with Ravi’s label, The L1VE and deemed a success.
Ravi teases 'ANI'
Ravi is doing pretty well in terms of his solo career as well. He released his fourth mini-album ‘Roses’ in June this year with two title tracks, ‘Flower Garden’ and ‘Cardigan.’ He is also a regular cast member in the KBS2 variety show ‘2 Days and 1 Night’. Ravi had more good news on November 25 when his label, Groovl1n dropped the surprise announcement about his upcoming single ‘ANI’.
With a 'Coming Soon' poster, Ravi teased the single that will be released on December 7. The teaser photo featured a ticking clock on it, raising expectations of fans who became curious about the concept of the new song. According to the announcement, Ravi will release the single ‘ANI’ at 6 pm KST (4 am ET) on December 7. Fans are rejoicing that Ravi is finally making a comeback after six whole months.
Ravi and VIXX's other releases
As a pioneer of Korean hip-hop globally, Ravi’s last release, ‘Roses’ broke many records as fans were loved the album's concept that showcased Ravi's musical experiments.
After that, with the aim of getting many new artists to join him in his venture to support music artists across different genres, Ravi launched The L1VE in July this year which has already started bearing fruit with Ailee’s last comeback and Wheein from Mamamoo joining Ravi.
Ravi is still very much an active part of the five-member K-pop group VIXX who haven't made a full-length album comeback since their third studio album ‘Eau de VIXX’ that was released in April of 2018 and featured the group's now-former member, Hongbin. The five remaining members of VIXX are currently focussing on their solo careers with Hyuk announcing his entry into the BL (Boy Love) drama world with the second season of ‘Color Rush’ where Hyuk will be seen as one of the main leads. Leo from VIXX on the other hand was also caught up in some bromance news with EXO’s Xiumin, when he posted a photo full of PDA on his Instagram with Xiumin, his long-time friend, sparking collab rumors.
