'TXT TOO': Fans amused as they missed J-hope's labelmate on Lollapalooza 2022 lineup

TXT is the first K-pop group to be performing at Lollapalooza which also marks their debut at a major US festival

American fans were first over the moon when it was reported that BTS’ J-hope had become the first South Korean artist to headline the main stage of a major US festival with Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago. It will kick off on July 28 and J-hope is set to perform on Sunday, July 31 at the Bud Light Seltzer stage at 9 pm local time. But in K-pop Twitter’s excitement, many did not scan through the whole lineup of Lollapalooza. And so, fans belatedly realized that the music festival had roped in another K-pop act. Big Hit’s second boy group and labelmate to J-hope, TXT is also set to perform.

This summer is a good season for MOAs (TXT’s fandom) as the boys just came back with their mini-album ‘Minisode 2: Thursday's Child’. They are also set to go on their very first world tour and the American leg of the tour starts off in Chicago itself on July 7. Well, Lollapalooza made a welcome post for TXT sharing that they were delighted in helping the boy group make their US festival debut. TXT will be performing on Saturday, July 30 at Solana x Perry's stage at 7:45 pm local time.

TXT to perform at Lollapalooza

We also had Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell personally welcoming J-hope and TXT as he said, “These artists have been given great gifts in communication. Their global audience speak different languages but possess an intense passion for their music. Lolla is the place where all music genres live in harmony. These are the superstars of the global phenomenon of K-pop, and we are so excited to have them at this year’s festival.” TXT too were excited with Taehyun adorably sharing that he would like to see J.Cole who is performing on the same day after TXT’s set.

‘How to process’

With most fans missing that TXT would also be performing, they made tweets like, “TXT TOO HEDHWJKADH SHUT UP OH MY GDOEJHDHE MY MOARMY HEART WAIT OH MY GOD HOW TO PROCESS.” Another said, “TXT TOO WHAAAAT THATS CRAZY.” One hoped TXT would have fun, “I really hope they get to see a lot of shows and have fun.” Another multi fan added, “I'm telling ya the rest of bts is gonna be there hyping hoseok and support their babies txt too omg.”

Another realized, “WAIT TXT WAS THE FIRST EVER KPOP GROUP TO PERFORM AT LOLLAPALOOZA????” One fan was excited for the setlist, “BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT TXT TOO??? BLUE HOUR??? GOOD BOY GONE BAD??? CAT AND DOG??? OH THEY DESERVE THIS SO MUCH."
