The dream to become a K-pop idol has been haunting many young hearts these days. Fans of the genre of music now have a new hope where their dreams can soon come true. TV Chosun has announced a new survival show where anyone with the desire to become an idol can participate and join in on the privileges that come with being an idol.

TV Chosun, the network that gave the world Mr and Miss Trot series that brought a lot of people interested in Korean music together is now coming up with a new concept that ensures people coming from any nationality, of any age, gender and background can become K-pop idols can now fulfill their dreams. The show will be called, ‘Tomorrow’s National Singer’ and will be a global K-pop audition-based survival show.

Tomorrow’s National Singer

This show, ‘Tomorrow’s National Singer’ will be like an end to all tunnels where one new voice will resonate with people and make their hearts beat again. It is reported that the show will first be broadcast in October of 2021 with 111 teams/acts participating. Here is a full list of contestants. The concept of this survival show is different than others where anyone who loves singing regardless of age, genre, nationality, and gender can participate in this large-scale audition.

Critics are now wondering if this show from TV Chosun will be any different from their Miss Trot and Mr Trot series that is to this day widely loved globally. The contestant list of ‘Tomorrow’s National Singer’ shows variety as the participants range from ages seven onwards, up to the age of 55 years old. The contestants also are not singers and trainees in the pursuit to become idols. In fact, they are people who pursue a job in different walks of life like a car salesman, a construction site staff, printer fixer, a deliveryman, a part-time worker at a restaurant, a firefighter and a doctor as well.

Even celebrities can participate

Not only that, it is said that celebrities, popular social media stars, past singers who already have their own fanbase can also participate in the program to raise the stakes. The winner of the show will win a cash prize that goes as high as 300 million won ($250,000) The producers while reporting about the show said, “We will move the hearts of the citizens through the ‘citizens’ performances, please wait for our upcoming program.”

In the past, the TV Chosun crew had been at the center of the audition craze with the 'Mr Trot' and 'Mr Trot' series, is once again spurring the discovery of next-generation K-pop stars of all ages. The official images of the ‘Tomorrow’s National Singer’ showed 111 teams dressed in red suits and lined up on the stage. The production team also said, “As the 111 teams who made it through the intense preliminaries gathered in one place for the first time, the scene was filled with the heat they radiate.”
